  1. I think you'll have to find yourself a teen age girl and go see it again. I actually enjoyed it more the 2nd time because I could take the time to appreciate the animation. I actually think that Disney Animation Studios has caught up to Pixar Studios in many areas of animation. Their snow and ice effects were amazing as was the hair in tangled.
  2. Certainly everyone is going to have their likes and dislikes. But you should realize when you are obviously in the minority. I don't like the Lion King but I realize that 99% of the population does so I don't go around saying its lousy. I just realize I personally don't like it.
  3. Amazing on a big screen with good sound. The animation with the snow and ice are incredible.
  4. LOL - I'm 50 and male and I've paid to see it 3 times. IMO I'd put it's appeal closer to a Pixar movie then I would to movie like Tangled or PatF
  5. Saw it today. Posted brief notes in the review forum. Great movie but I think it's niche. Hanks and Emma will help it. The crowd was really old... my age and older. My 11 year old was the only kid.
  6. No dammit. I saw 2 movies today... everyone should have. I will not be happy until my movie kicks every other movies ass.
  7. Fantastic movie and I give it an A As a Disney freak and big Mary Poppins fan I was real interested to get more detail on how the movie came about. While I knew a bit about Travers I did not know she had such a hard childhood. The movie was very emotional with the flashbacks. Hanks and Emma were fantastic.... I hope they win awards for this. I have read the books and saw the stage play. In the stage play Banks was cruel... borderline abusive. The books.... not much better. In the movie he is more neglectful. Now I understand why. However Disney did provide a more happy ending then what really happened. Travers did cry during the premier. But it was because she was unable to stop the animation from being in the film... not from receiving closer as the movie suggests. . Not feeling sorry for her... she received 5%. Still a great movie.
  8. No matter how excited we got this week 300M is still the goal. For me... as a Disney freak... beating UP is the goal.
  9. Thanks all. Guess I was one expecting too much and hoped for at least 20. Got pretty excited this morning when I sat in a sold out theater on its 4th week.
  10. I need a BO expert to interpret for me. Good number for Frozen?
  11. 11.2 Frozen's Saturday number or from another forum. Only Rth can tell us
  12. 22M was the number I was hoping for but did want to be laughed out of the forum. No laughing now..
  13. Agreed... And they need to come early.... seeing both Saving Mr Banks & Frozen tomorrow
  14. I enjoyed it. Watch it every Christmas. However I didn't spend the money to see it at the theater... only the DVD. Maybe that makes me a little more tolerant.
  15. I'm not a box office expert but... Its a great family movie with great WOM and no real competition. People that have not seen it are being told to see it. People that have seen it are looking for excuses to see it again. After spending $1000 bucks on Johnny's presents Dad wants a sure bet movie for the family to see. I see a big week next week. --- Tron lightship battle is amazing... wish I could see this movie on the big screen again.
  16. ahhh... I'll consider that. In 30 years of coding I've never assigned a sex to my creations.... That would explain the mocking...
  17. Someone explain to me why Tron turns against his programming and creator. The code I write does not do that. It mocks me occasionally... but never rebels completely.
  18. Horrible dialog going on between the Flynn's now so enjoy a little Disney Electronica.
  19. Nice. Not sure A2 is great but since I'm a BO virgin I don't really know. End of Line scene in Tron. A month after I saw Tron in the theaters I went to Disneyland and they had the 'ElecTRONica' event at the DCA park. It was fantastic. It shows how Disney has such an advantage in tying movies with their other properties.
