  1. However I did put on Tron Legacy to listen to a little Daft Punk and I'll stare at Quorra a little

Every time I watch this movie I get pissed on how they screwed it up.

    The music is amazing.

    The visuals are amazing.

The back story with the website and the Flynn lives clips was great.

    The story was ok.

Some of the dialog and acting... and perhaps editing ruined it.

  2. No, Fishnets went into every thread saying The Hobbit sucked. I'm staying in a single thread discussing my dislike for Iron Man 3, including a valid opinion on it.

7+ times in one thread in a half hour is excessive... I assume that's what Shawn is getting tired of.

It happens all the time between fanboys and while most people do it in good fun there are plenty of times it gets over the top.

However the ignore button is probably a better option then reporting every post you don't like.

  3. Gravity had a couple... the destruction of the ISS and Stone releasing Kowalski

Thor - all about Frigga... the fight, the funeral, Loki's reaction

Perhaps because its still fresh in my mind...

What made Frozen so great to me was the non-stop emotional roller coaster scenes throughout the film.  I don't get choked up to often in movies but I did several times in Frozen:

The 'do you wanna build a snowman' scene... especially at the end with each of them sitting against the door.

    The villain revel...

such a cruel line uttered in a Disney movie by someone that was not a villain

.  Hearing gasps from 700 people at once in a theater is something I've never experienced before.

The final act of true love.  I may be dumb but I didn't see it coming and I didn't know where it was going from there.  I've never heard a theater so quiet for so long.

And of course... the Let it Go scene.  Great lyrics, great music, great visuals, great transformation of the character.

  5. Oh and also time for some classic film theory:

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - 107M

    Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas - 27M

    Hours - 17M

We actually looked at the grosses of AUJ and whatever the last Madea movie was before predicting. Everyone except me said a Hobbit increase up to at least 96M. Also, I made a $5 bet with someone that Hours would not be released in more than 1000 theaters. They were insisting anything less than 2000 theaters would be intense disrespect for Paul Walker.... Whatevs, they just paid for a movie for me ^_^

  6. I don't think Disney is really pushing any song from Frozen besides Let It Go for the awards season. But if there will indeed be a 2nd song nominated from the film, it'll be For the First Time in Forever.

Since they released the full clip of the scene from the movie they are really pushing it.

  7. romete control.

    Radio

    Jarvis actually.

Jarvis is an extension of Stark.  It represents the practical/analytical side of him.

The robot dummy is a representation of the emotional/unthinking side of stark.

Stark character itself flows back and forth between the two in the movies.

Jarvis starts to fail after the attack because his whole identity and ability to protect Pepper was tied to his suits and the technology he created which were destroyed.

The kid, of course, is the roots/origin of Stark.  Unblemished and idealistic but still with starks personalty edge.

Through the kid Stark realizes his identity is not the technology (suits) he created but instead his ability to create them.

After he realizes  that Jarvis is whole again and the suits become tools he uses in the final battle instead of being his identity.

It is interesting that in the final scene the only thing he salvaged from his house was Dummy.

Even though I've seen it 3 times... for the life of me I can't remember if Jarvis survived.

One of the signs of a great movie is if in-depth character representations like this are 'felt' by the audience and not shoved down our throats.

  8. If something seemed missing why did it garner an A rating from you?

Missing doesn't always mean bad.... just not what I was expecting. ( I felt the same way about Skyfall)

I'm going to go see it again which means it was an A.

My wife liked it better then the Avengers which we saw 4 times ( including tonight ) in the theaters.

  9. Iron Man Marathon ( IM 1-3 and the avengers ) - Last 2 were in 3D.

    AMC 24 Highlands Ranch, CO

They sold 170 out of the 300

Trailers ( there were only trailers in front of IM3)

    Thor

    Wolverine

Cheering and clapping at the beginning and end of both trailers as would be expected for Marvel trailers at a Marvel Marathon

A long 12 hours at the theater but it was easier to do then I thought it would be.

Crowd seemed to love IM3.  So did I but I'm not sure how much.  Something seemed missing... or off.  Maybe it just wasn't what I was expected.  We'll likely see it again in a week.

    A

  10. Outstanding movie. We'll see it again.A little slow at the beginning as each main characters assemble then it picked up.My 10 year old son actually sat forward in his chair 2-3 times which I've never seen him do before.

Something I did not like was emo Jack Frost's subplot.

Jack Frost's story was the plot... the boogeyman was the vehicle to tell it.
