We tend to see any movie we like at least twice these days. This year we've seen AOU, Tomorrowland and Cindy twice. We'll see JW and IO a 2nd time.
We saw Avengers a lot... 4-6 times but some of them were because of double/triple features with other marvel films.
Since we do Disney Cruises almost every year the last few years I've seen a ton of Disney movies multiple times.
The record is Frozen which I've seen an unbelievable number of times.

Shit, man, when I was your age I'd see movies twice as many times.
Yeah... but they were a lot cheaper back then:

Surprised I didn't get the trailer at Inside Out
We did.
The middle aged woman next to me was almost hysterical in laughter.
In fact all the trailers have gotten great reactions every time I've seen them.

Haven't read this whole thread but here on vacation here in Carlsbad CA we decided at dinner to try to see IO.
All showings at the local theater except for the 10:00 were basically sold out. We ended up 2nd row. at a 9:00 showing. In the 5-10 minutes we were discussion which show to attend the 4th & 5th rows sold out.

The correct answer is Groundhog Day.
No... that is #2.
The correct answer is Caddy Shack

And the Rex couldn't get in small places lol.

Star Wars has 0% chance of being the #1 domestically.
Reasons?
It's fine to have this opinion but when you speak in absolutes you should try to back it up.
SW is one of the most popular franchises of all time.
More so then JP.
The awareness of SW7 outside of the entertainment boards/sites is already incredible.

I think mods were pretty lenient regarding derailments in this thread. They realized weekends like this don't come around too often.
It actually wasn't too bad. Mostly movie talk... only a couple of pokemon gifs.

Ok. But calling it spoilers?
What would you call it?
You are not supposed to spoil sports results or TV shows results in general threads.
That's beside the fact that it's off topic in this thread.

Please stop with the sports spoilers in this thread. Same with GOT

Poor Lebron but he chose to go back to a team with no depth, STEPH CURRY. Boom.
Fuck... thanks

Rth posting here means we're at the tip of the spear when it comes to box-office data.
We're the tip of Rth's spear?

JW's previews simply would have shifted to Midnight lol.
Or to Friday.
This argument is as stupid now as it was during AoU's OW.
If there are no 7:00 previews those people don't just decide not to see the movie... they go another time during the weekend.
-
But you should know, people here what they here 1st and FOX is reporting the number this evening, not this morning..
The official estimate never changed. The major media outlets are always going to go with what the studio estimates. Only the industry rags are going to have projections throughout the day.

I feel the Big O coming on..its going to be sticky

JP1 Kids > JW Kids
I just hope in one of the sequels the kids get eaten in the 1st act.
-
The game just came on and its already a bore. The Cavs
already aren't trying.
Not the sports thread.
I'm taping it for a while because I don't want to sit through the commercials...

Posts like this are only proving my point. I get that anything above $130M is fantastic. That's exactly what my point is. I should be astounded by this being higher than AOU. But so many people jumped on the stinkin' OW record/$215+ million hype train these last few hours that it makes the Deadline report a tad disappointing.
Yes, I get it. So many people are saying to me JW has already won. It most definitely has. I'm not saying it hasn't. Not even close. It's won and then some. But that only strengthens my point that hype trains really screw with perception.
But the ride is what makes these forums so much fun.
If the early tracking or even the early daily projections were always accurate there would be no reason to hang around the forums all night waiting for more accurate estimates.
Instead we get 3-4 nights a year were it's really exciting because we don't really know what the final result is going to be.
The ups and downs and differing projections from different sources bring the boxoffice to life to us that have no real stake in the final results.

JW is way too scary for families, I think
Depends on what you mean by families. 10 and up... not really.
However...
after watching the 1st 3 this week I was a little surprised how many random people got eaten in this one.
But now that I have a kid I realize its not really people getting killed that can bother younger kids but intense moments when something bad might happen to kids or parents that bother them.
In the original the kids being abandoned in the car is one of those moments.
A couple of moments in JW but no worst then the 1st.

Huh. I was gone all day and missed a hundred pages. Record? Yesno?
The 100 pages? Not a record.
JW OW... up in the air.

I will be so funny if this falls short of the record once again.
Hope it gets at least 200.

I'm sure this has been addressed somewhere, but what does it mean when "Google (1)" or similar is browsing?
Just means that Google ( or yahoo, msn ) are indexing the forum.

I really hope Inside Out isn't destroyed by Jurassic World. JW is entertaining but kinda lacking and although I haven't seen Inside Out yet, I have a feeling I'll like it more.
It think JW will mute its opening a little bit but if it's as good as it looks like it will overcome it.
Much like Frozen did against CF.

70-74 range was Noctis trolling again
No... Noctis trolled 71-74 then the real Rth stated 70-74.
And implied later that WC was doing better then expected.

Weekend Estimates: JW: 102 IO 91...RTH: Sun JW 38.3 | IO 25.3 with possible upsides PG 287, possible 107M for JW weekend
in Numbers and Data
Posted
I haven't seen any meltdowns from Marvel fans about JW breaking the record.
In fact... most the talk I've seen about it is from people trying provoke a reaction.
