In the US, if we had reserved seating... it seems likely every party would leave a single open seat next to them. You'd end up with a ton of empty singles on big movies.
Is that not a problem with reserved seating elsewhere?

Is there an alarm in your head that goes off every time someone says Terminator?
Hmm let me try something.
Harry Potter
Marvel
Avatar
Nolan
Got to say em 3 times

Taking a break.. What's the weekend number??

It's unclear whether the T-Rex had changed gender or not. I think it's fine to consider her a "she", pending any specific evidence.
I took that attitude in New Orleans once... it was a mistake.

I think it's weird that 190 people without accounts are reading this. Um, hello world. Just sign up.
I was just a guest reading the Avengers thread its 1st weekend.
Hopefully they'll stay around like I did.

Well well have to agree to disagree. Talk and chatter is usually a great indicator annnnd just look at that.
Even if they think they're going to hate....they'll pay to atleast find out.
Im sorry but if you think SW7 has a chance at 200m OW the conversation is over because I don't trust your box office knowledge.
You claim social is a great indicator of BO performance then turn around several posts later and claim SW7 has no shot at the record even though on both traditional and social media it blows away BvS?
ok....

I haven't seen this yet, guys. For those who have, is this better than the first? A simple yes or no answer would suffice.
Thanks.
Yes

It really is impossible to guess what SW will do the week before Christmas.
True... one thing we do know. That will be the craziest weekend ever on BOT.
As a PP already stated....
It's likely SW7 previews will be crazy... they might challenge DH2.
That will set the forum expectations on a record OW.
Friday could be muted because kids are in school ( not mine )
That will generate a record number of WWW threads on Saturday.
Then we wait and see what happens on Sat/Sun.
I'll already looking forward to that weekend.

I thought the 120M projections were high.
It's amazing what nostalgia for a franchise will do.
Makes me more excited about December.

It was decent. Nothing amazing/spectacular. 4-5/10

"Enjoyable" isn't the word I would use.
I saw it today and 'enjoyed' it.
However I'll admit I knew exactly what I'd get going into it and my expectations were lower then for a movie like Tomorrowland.
This is not unique to the Movie business.
It's not unusual at my company for us to talk about 'setting the proper exceptions for the client'
So often movies seem to 'flop' mainly because the studio did not set the proper expectations.

I bet 100 points to 3 people that spy is over 40m OW
I'll take it

Tomorrowland is a better original SciFi movie then Interstellar.
The characters are better and the plot makes more sense.

I saw the trailer today which is the 1st time I've seen anything about this movie. I still don't know what to think.
My 1st impression was... someone saw Wreck it Ralph and said to themselves: 'Hey... what other movies can we do based off vintage video games'
I'm not excited about it but my wife and 12 year old does

No.
I love the transformers but even I don't want to see this.
-
When are you going to watch the real classics?
Mel Brooks

69th: Spiderman - Spiderman - Tobey Maguire
30pts - 3 Votes
The orignial and best cinematic spiderman in my and it seems of all your eyes too. Maguire worked so well as the normal kid that deveolped great power and thus found himself with great responsibilities also. Yes the third one may have been a bit awful and probably hurt Spidey's overall rank like Donkey before him, but those first two films are still some of the leading examples of comic book film brilliance and that is partly down to great casting of Spidey.
Garfield wasn't bad, but he wasn't good enough to score a single vote in our poll (Gwen Stacey came 419th though).
Am I the only one that absolutely hated Tobey Maguire as spiderman?

We'll just...change all the numbers by $2.
That's funny... and not a bad idea

Im serious about the screenshots. If someone could create a folder with shots off all the yearly charts, weekend index, seasonal charts, all time records, year to dates, opening weekends, movie gross pages, etc, that would be awesome.

I'm gonna have to break yhe news to ya: Tele really isn't as old as many of you think he is... As a matter of fact, I've guessed Tele's age closer than anyone.. I'd say between myself and Andy, were the 2 oldest one's on this site...
Don't believe what you've heard. This is Tele as a baby:

While its typically normal to not set right next to someone with non-reserved seats I've noticed people are pretty good at feeling in seats if the movie is crowded.
