DEADLINE: You’ve got a bunch of characters in this movie from Falcon and War Machine and Black Widow and Hawkeye, who have so far guest starred in movies with another characters title above the fold. Is there one destined to get a solo movie down the line?
FEIGE: We’ve announced the next nine movies, ten counting Civil War, through the end of 2019. Where we go beyond that are ongoing discussions that we’ll focus on in the next few years because we have a lot to do before then. Of the characters that you’ve just mentioned I would say certainly the one creatively and emotionally that we are most committing to doing is Black Widow.
DEADLINE: Why?
FEIGE: We think she’s an amazing character. We think Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal of her is amazing. She’s a lead Avenger and has amazing stories in her own right to tell that we think would be fun to turn into a standalone franchise.

Do we still have to pretend this is all film maker driven when they've booted two directors for "creative differences" and we're only two films in?

At this point, they should just push Kamala Khan before Inhumans. She's a much stronger character than they are, and could work as a lead-in for a Ms. Marvel and the Inhumans sequel. Open the film with the terrigen bomb going off, she gets her powers, Lockjaw shows up, hijinks ensue. Have Lockjaw port her to Attilan in a stinger and voila.
Or forget the Inhumans entirely, I mostly just want a Ms. Marvel movie.

I can understand people not liking the main character is not being played by a Japanese actress but how is this different than Tom Cruise being the lead in Edge of Tomorrow?
Tom Cruise wasn't playing the same character from All You Need Is Kill.

Is half the first one a lot of money?
Knowing nothing about the budget, 500m seems decent.

This whole Grace twitter thing is so stupid. Two super-hero movies with nearly the exact same premise that come out a month apart were always going to be compared to each other.
Shes acting like the whole thing is taboo. Lol
With reviews being what they are, it's even more of a shame they didn't stick to opening on the same day. Could've been the greatest gladiator match in the history of the world: good vs bad, rotten vs fresh, the Kryptonian neck snapper vs the Star Spangled Man!

For example, we all know that "The Cure" joke was in Wright's script, but in the film itself, it's not that humorous although with the appropriate wacky editing, it could've been really fun.
Except it wasn't.

I hope one these franchises casts Michelle Monaghan in it just to piss Tele off until the end of time.
I think she'd be great in the next Mad Max movie.

But why should I -- as an audience member -- care whether they're hard to produce or not, or what expectations the company holds?
Harping on that seemed to work for The Revenant.

William's Superman theme will never not be the best superhero theme. Spidey and Batman '89 are pretty good, though.

Blade helped develop an interest in Marvel movies but X-Men's success lead on to Spider-Man which was even more successful.
As much as Feige and fans might want X-Men in the MCU, I personally think they work fine on their own universe. The Fantastic Four which I think Fox would be more willing to give up the rights would be a better fit in the MCU
Speaking as a MCU fan, I don't want the X-Men to be a part of it. Even in the comics the X-Men stuff and everything else coexisting is kind of wonky.
Woulda been cool to have Jackman's Wolverine in one of the Avengers, though.

It's the whole of DC VS Marvel , there is a point in bringing anything from now and the past.
Only because the present is so hilariously lopsided.

If Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow (despite the problems that show has), and Supergirl were in the same universe as the live-action films, I'd....have a far better opinion of the DC cinematic universe.
Flash and Supergirl couldn't exist in that universe. Could you imagine this Supergirl saying some nihilistic nonsense like "No one stays good in this world"?

Warner Bros/DC is going for a director driven approach for DC films.
Not too director driven, though, right Mrs. Maclaren?

So, a question for the mods from n00b: Do superhero films usually drown the entire forum in fanboy dick-measuring like BvS has?
Superhero films, Star Wars films, Hobbit films, Star Trek films, Avatar films...
Weekend Thread | RTH pg 197...Mother's Day not kind to CW but very kind to JB and MD CW 42, JB 9,7, MDD 6.1,Hunts 1.48...puts CW at about 178M

So RDJ and Spider-Man added about 60-80m to Cap3, on just its OW. Probably be good for around an extra 200-250m total, just domestically. Should end up providing a bit of a boost to Black Panther's solo, too.
