What does this mean for the up coming dailies? Will Star Wars maintain #1?
Probably not. Star Wars benefited more from the holiday because it's one on which many are out of school, but few are out of work.

It's a MB movie, it should be pulling at least $20m in his name alone
Yeah, no. Spielberg is pretty much the only director who you can sell a movie on with his name alone. Directors like Nolan, Bay, or whoever else, are all "From the director of" guys.

I was talking about Titanic and yes it was in many ways what the original SW was for boys, that movie they went to see 5,10 and even 20 times in the theater.
It had a lot of repeat viewers, mainly young girls, and they were the major reason for it's ungodly run.
These days, a lot of that repeat viewing would be done with a pirated screener, or an iffy cam recording.

Is this gonna another role that Lawrence is at least a decade too young to play?

Releasing an extended edition in theaters is probably the only way to put TFA over 1bil, depending on how close it gets. But then, it depends on if Disney actually cares about that kind of milestone or not.

I haven't been to Disneyland in forever, but I might have to make a day of it after this is finished.

Witness Inarritu's best work.
If there's one thing I like about being American, it's that I only have to endure soccer every 4 years when a few other Americans pretend to like it.

Watch Fassbender steal it from Leo and we get another soul crushing gif from Leo
Would be totally worth it.

It's not Stallone so much as the character and the notion of making up for not awarding him along with the film itself when Rocky won Best Picture nearly 40 years ago.

Is he actually Oscar worthy in Creed or is this a "OMG WE JUST LOVE HIM" award?
You ask this as if you haven't seen Creed.

Christian Slater is relevant for the first time in a decade.
Feels like that's being generous.

Poor Orlando Blooms career is so dead he has to have a movie a year and a half away pimped for him.
Doesn't Avatar 2 start shooting soon? And he was in the not-the-Rock Hercules movie.

Perestroika? Not sure what reforming the Communist party has to do with anything.

GotG was shot on an Alexa, too. Not sure if the same model as was used on Cap 2, but those two movies don't look much alike, especially not in terms of color.

Ren's design definitely borrowed from Revan's.

You should start with the ones which don't have song and dance, or at least the ones which relegate the song and dance to the background. Maybe start with something like "Chak De India" or Lagaan which are both sports based movies and are much easier to relate to since they speak a common theme of victory over the enemy through sports.
Thanks for the tips. I rather like sports movies even though I generally don't care for sports.

I wish I could get into Indian movies, but man do song and dance numbers grate on my nerves.

Just saw it, not really sure what to think. I want to like it, but the characters outside of Ethan and Martin ranged from boring to annoying to just shrill in the case of Laurie. Martin might've been better off letting that dude with the awful accent marry her.
I'm also not particularly fond of the Deus Ex Idiot plot device leading them to Scar. Made most of Ethan and Martin's search pointless when some character, whom I don't recall even being hinted at as having gone off to look, just appears out of the ether and leads them to the camp. Twice!
The scenes done on location were beautifully shot, but it made the transitions to the scenes shot on sound stages jarring.
