Same here. I'm a Cameron fan, just not a stan, but some of the people here are simply toxic when it comes to his films. They seem able to bring every film's thread around to the greatness that is James Cameron. After a while, their "enthusiasm" became so off-putting that it discouraged me from posting here.
I’ve missed seeing your posts Talkie! (While I was lurking about, LOL!)

This is a very interesting weekend.
Understatement, LOL!
I’m super impressed by CM’s hold too. Loving her late legs.
Note to self: I need to watch Shazam!

You’re back!!! It’s been so long.
Welcome back!
Ha! I wasn’t dusted from existence after all!
Been working a bunch, getting ready for a transfer to Sacramento, LOL... never stopped following the MCU or their box office.
Good lord, this movie tho... How?

Decided I might as well try to figure out my login information to join in the OMGWTFBBQ that this weekend is shaping up to be.
I saw Endgame yesterday, in a packed 8am showing at the IMAX at the Metreon in SF. I am going to see it again today with the hubby and friends. It deserves every single damn cent it’s getting. But I never would have believed it could top IM’s complete domestic run in its OW.
God. Damn.

Eh... Canonically, Vision I don't think ever picked up the hammer, so I wasn't really expecting him here to. But I was pretty annoyed with the movie by that point, that that basically broke me. I'm sure I would've been more okay with it if I didn't think Vision came across as a colossal d-bag. Sure would've gotten over it quicker. Also. If the entire movie was better.
So, okay. I might be harping on that point a bit, but it was the crowning cherry on an overall sundae of shit.

I'm finding all the 'Cap should've or could've lifted Mjolnir' stuff amusing. He couldn't and at the end of the movie he even justified Vision picking it up jokingly along with Tony to Thor for them to save face.
No amount of analysis on Evans' face while he tries to lift it will change that. That's the definition of reaching.
Can I still be pissed off about it? Because, yeah, it pisses me off.
It really doesn't help that I found Whedon wrote Vision to be a smug asshole.

^Not to be spiting you right after your post, but honestly, I hope Vision has the fourth biggest role in Civil War. I absolutely loved him in this; he added a sense of majesty the MCU has been sorely lacking. It helped he didn't make jokes too
GAWD I WILL RETCH, LOL!
Just kidding. But seriously, I just. Don't. Like. Him.

C&P'd this from my SHH post. I felt like actually going with a D, but I think I'm still too close from just watching the movie and enjoying it for what it was... Rather than being angry about the storytelling/character development Joss chose to go with.
*sigh*
I'll start with what I loved:
-Tony and Steve's scenes, and anything involving the two of them. There was kind of a lovely brother/brother, and at times, a father/son vibe to them. I really loved how Tony's PTSD carried through this movie and his arc makes CIVIL WAR seem believable.
-Cap's story in the movie, mostly as leader and parental figure to his team. A lot of the jokes at his expense were like kids making fun of their dad, and it was kind of hilarious.
-Many of the action sequences were fun and top-notch comic book fun.
-the global scope of the movie.
-Scarlet Witch
-Pietro's relationship to Scarlet Witch
-much of the humor worked for me.
-Ultron was great!
-NEW TEAM YAY!!!
What I really didn't like:
-some of the humor felt awkward in spots
-OMG WITH THE EDITING! Who edited this? So much cut out, and so many scenes went from A to K to Z without any transitions or explanations. I wondered how the heck did Ultron get his first upgrade?
-the pacing was crazy fast, and weird, and I think a lot of cool character moments suffered as a result.
-Hawkeye and his family. I really zoned out and I didn't want to, but zzzzzzzzz...
-Bruce/Nat. I think Whedon forgot that he wrote Natasha saying, "Love is for children," in the first movie. This was forced, awkward, and then in the final act, she tells him, " I adore you!" Yeah, I wanted to love them, but the execution was poor.
-Vision. I really did not like him at all except for his final scene in the woods with Ulty. He was... IDK. I wanted to love him, I was prepared to love him and have him steal the movie... But he showed up, and just annoyed the crap out of me.
-I am really over destruction porn. At least if the character and storytelling doesn't make sense. I kept tallying up the casualty counts and city destruction costs during the Hulkbuster fight and the final battle... In which Ultron destroys an entire city. Wow... Nope.
THINGS THAT ENRAGED ME!
-Vision picking up Mjolnir, not once but twice, and not Cap. I know it was shorthand to get the team to trust him BUT I HATED IT OKAY????
Ugh, I kind of loathe MCU Vision to be honest. (He was an actual deus ex machina, the nuclear bomb from TA1 of this movie.) If he has a part in CW, I hope that it is small, and he's not onscreen for more than two minutes. I just... UGH!
For now, I think this was actually my least favorite MCU movie, because several of the character decisions left me baffled. I admit it is a better movie than both Thors, and IM2 and TIH, but maybe I'm still too close to it to be more objective. Anyways, I hope once I rent it four-five months later, I will enjoy it more.
I'm not paying for it again in theaters. So any of you guys who loved it, I guess go see it again for me? LOLOL!
And because of this, I really don't give a shit about its box office. It could cap out at $300 million for all I care.
BRING ON CIVIL WAR!!!

maybe, but when he found out, Murdock was half dead, you'd think maybe he could of let up a little at first.
Well…
He got Claire to patch him up, and something tells me through his fog of hurt feelings and betrayal, he found a way to get Matty dressed and put cute socks on him
I honestly cannot blame Foggy for feeling hurt, betrayed, and fearful. Matt was practically mostly half-dead when he saw him! That's his booooooo- 1
-
Really, I adore Karen and Foggy, so I was thrilled with the last half of the series.
Karen, especially. I love how well her arc and story changed from the comics. I really, really hope they continue with her development. Deborah Ann Woll can get it!
FOGGY THOUGH! I loved that
his speech to Matt about DD was really all about whether Matt trusted him, and seeing him hurt. It came across like a couple going through a breakup. I thought he was rightly angry and scared for his best friend. And the anger didn't last long at all… really, only two episodes.

Oh swoon!
He is both cute and sexy. Though… really, in STARDUST he's more cute.
In DAREDEVIL though, he is just eminently fuckable. I can say that here, can't I?

-
I'm rewatching STARDUST right now and I rented THEORY OF EVERYTHING, and I have my Prime membership queued up for BOARDWALK EMPIRE, which I've never seen, but I've heard Cox is all up in that… And I've already googled his nude butt shots from BE, so… YEAH BABY!!
I'm crazy in love obsessed with him right now. Maybe even a wee bit more than Chris Evans. (Though Evans' press tour shenanigans are making me ROFL.)

He doesn't tho. The line means the opposite of that. That if he could buy her it'd be artificial, and he wasn't looking for that
Fisk/Vanessa relationship is one of the best things about the show imo. Twisted as they are
They are the MCU version of Boyd/Ava from JUSTIFIED and I am into them!
Also, Charlie Cox catapulted to the top of my MCU actor list. He's equal to Evans for me. His red lips! His beautiful abs... *dreamy sigh*

LOL Crazy how this ended up beating MJ1 after all MJ1 did to recover its footing and beat GotG.
Some would say MJ1 was... sniped.

My husband keeps bugging me about when this is coming out.
Thank God it's Tues. I'm getting it with all the quickness. I honestly think this is his favorite movie… and we both saw and loved JOHN WICK and BOYHOOD.
So… yeah, LOL!

Oof. For both movies.Finished below Blackhat dom but beat it ww. Quite the competition
Alllllllll the FISH CALLED WANDA love the last few pages!!! If/when E gets back on this thread, she'd better give us her reaction. That one of the BEST movies of the last few decades. A real comedy classic, up there with GHOSTBUSTERS!

I really don't understand why she is demanding such control. Why wouldn't you let people who know what they're doing do it? If anything, a better movie will result in more money for James.
I've heard not too good things about James in real life…

Baumer’s post in the weekend thread made me realize I am really such a B.O. n00b, but it honestly just dawned on me that no movie except for Avatar has grossed over $2b internationally. Goodness.
I doubt that EG can reach $930+ million domestically, but I think it has the power to get to $2 billion. Good gravy, I hope it can.
