  1. Maybe it's just me, but… I honestly just think it was splitting the movies up into two parts that killed the momentum and WOM.

I expect to see all these franchises who were breaking up their movies into multiple final chapters to change their tunes very soon. Marvel changing IW and giving both Avengers 3 and 4 distinct titles now. Tell one cohesive story in a movie, don't go breaking it up into two parts needlessly.

Can I ask… was it really Harry Potter that started this finale trend? Because it's so not good. Though DH1 was my favorite of all the Potter movies for some reason.

  2. Besides Baby Thor of course, the acting is aces across the board in this franchise. Like I said yesterday, the acting has actually turned most of these characters into more developed and likable ones then they ever were in the books.

Julianne Moore, Jeffery Wright, and PSH were riveting, for sure. And I desperately wanted something to happen b/w Effie and Haymitch ;)

Hutcherson really ramped up his game too. Really strong performances across the board.

  3. Well then. As someone who's not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence, liked THG but didn't like CF, I really enjoyed the hell out of this one. I think I was a bigger fan of all the acting bigwigs (Julianne Moore and PSH are LOVE!!!), and Effie/Haymitch, like, forever.

I also don't like the split, but whatever. For the material with the first book, Lawrence and the writers did the best work they could with it. The political theater stuff was so well done.

  4. Disney/ABC dropped the ball big time by not having AOS streaming on Netflix a week or so before the new season started. Yes, while the prior season was uneven by majority view, people could've caught up with the show post-WS and rolled right into the season premiere. If just a few more Nielsen households caught the latter half of last season, ratings might have improved for this more stellar season.

That said, this show, I want to marry it like WHOA!!

  5. Do you guys think this will continue after this season? Ratings have been atrocious so far.

When you factor in the Live+7 Day viewing (which accounts for Hulu views as well… people like me who don't have cable/network television so have to watch it a day later, and Hulu service does have commercials play during the episodes) the average increase is usually above 70%, which is a huge leap. Puts the measurable viewing around 7 million viewers each week.

It's not a huge number, but it also is a top ratings getter for men 18-49, a coveted demographic for ABC.

I think it does okay for now.
