Yeah agreed. So weekly Premiership matches do not really effect the BO and only big matches do, especially England ones or other national matches.So this weekend's BO will be down due to the weather and not really the football starting again.It's the major football events that attack the box office. World cup, Euros, champions league finals and the FA Cup final. Occasionally the last weekend of the premiership if it's a tight one.
Yeah, it is so hot in London!Weird that in most hot countries people go to cinemas to cool off and relax but in colder countries (like the UK) people avoid the cinemas when it is hot as it is so rare!As expected, my cinema is empty.

Thanks, liking the Friday report!Wow, Expendables 2 is doing badly as well as Bourne, thought Expendables 2 would do better than than the 1st one in the UK and finish 2nd this weekend when it may now finish 4th!Glad the football is back! But I don't think it visibly effects the BO as it is every weekend for 9 months. Maybe effects it a bit in the summer though.

Makes sense and was the likely outcome of the TA vs TDKR battle.Asia and S.America prefer 3D and action event movies way more than Europe.We can conclude that, in general, Europe prefers TDKR and both Asia and South America prefers TA

Finally Japanese numbers are in, and I am happy with them! Great OD, so hopefully at least $35M/$40M so it can reach $1.5B WW!BOM says $844.6M OS already but that has not been updated for around a month! Must be higher now?

I hope things do get better with different leadership.Of course, protection for local movies is fine but just not in the extreme way China go about it.The new national leaderships will take over later in October this year. Lets see if things can get better or not.There will be always protection for local movies however, but hope the new leaders wont limit Hollywood movies potentials.

Avatar was a 3D global phenomenon and Titanic needed a big 3D re-release to pass $2B WW. Will be a while before another film hits that $2B WW figure so $1B WW is still special for now. Especially for a 2D film like TDKR.Hardly, since both Avatar and Titanic both crossed 2 billion.

Chinese government is damn annoying shoving all the Hollywood films together.Chinese people love Hollywood films and want more of them and grosses are getting bigger. Trying to limit the success of these Hollywood blockbusters is a fruitless task as they are getting bigger in China every year. Hopefully the Chinese government will see they cannot win in the end and stop their meddling.

I would be very happy with at least $35M in Japan for Avengers, anything over that is a great bonus!Especially as it is a superhero film.
