Bourne Legacy estimates kept dropping and dropping...at least it has $40M+ for OW now.
-
That should be the last Step Up film released in the UK then...epic bomb.
-
Okay, good to know SD use thru-Wednesday numbers.
-
Probably, but that is due to the low USA gross. But will fall short WW.
That would be amazing! I hope so but it will be close.Italy has yet to open. Could even surpass it.
-
True, but weekends are not that important during the summer as weekdays are so strong. But yes, the sunny weather and Olympics is having some impact. At least the Closing Ceremony is on Sunday night so will effect the weekend BO much less than the Opening Ceremony, which was on a Friday night when more people go to the cinema.Good weather I think may be effecting the BO a little right now. It was very warm in London today. Everyone was out enjoying the sunshine. That coupled with the olympics and closing ceremony could prove a bit of a downer.

Thanks for allowing unranked. Will PM my list within the next few days.Well, I'm reluctant to do that just because it complicates scoring, but I want everyone to participate so I guess I can allow it. What I would do is take the 100 points that would be allotted to a #1 film and subtract from that the number of films in your list. So if you submit 20 films, every film will receive 80 points, 50 films, 50 points, etc. For comparison, if you submit a ranked list, your #20 gets 81 points, your #19 82 points, and so on. People who rank their films will have a little more impact on the final list but you'd still get a big say.

Great idea! Can I suggest people can put up unranked lists too, as many (myself including) find it hard to pick just one top film. So can you accept lists of say 20/50/100 unranked films and treat them all as equal ranking?

Loved reading the LOTR books, absolutely magical apart from the songs.Need to read The Hobbit now.

Probably Thursday as it was posted by SD today.http://www.screendaily.com/box-office/dkr-crosses-400m-for-warner-bros-pictures-international/5045252.article?referrer=RSSBy Thursday? It seems kind of low

Bourne did better than I thought it would.Hope TDKR has a good weekend, could maybe get $20M+ perhaps...

Up to $89,352,416M OS from midweek figures.
-
Up to $607M OS pre-weekend.
This really will get close to IA3 I think.
-
TDKR up to $407.2M OS now and this figure is pre-weekend!

Yeah, the summer one RTH mentioned. Yes, Avatar is way ahead but most charts include the re-release of Titanic and Avatar so the gap is less than £20M; so re-releases do count I think and I use them as most do.Avatar 2 will be huge but won't beat Avatar as that film was a one-off special phenomenon. It will be interesting to see which film breaks the £100M barrier in the UK. Will be in the next few years I think.I don't really count Titanic's re-release, because it made like £10m more. When was Avatar's re-release? It made over £91.5m up until the beginning of April, so it can't have been at all significant.
-
I hope so!Probably will have a sequel and be a franchise like Hangover.... a global phenomenon
-
Surely it should have increased on Tuesday like TDKR did last week?
-
With the 3D re-release Titanic is 2nd place now with £79M so less than £20M to reach Avatar's £93M. But Titanic did have a re-release which is 'cheating' but Avatar had a summer re-release too so both top 2 films 'cheated'.Hmm, I really don't know about that.
Perhaps the last Hobbit movie has the best chance right now, but even that would be incredibly tough, and unlikely. £93.4m is £20m more than the 2nd highest grossing film ever.
-
Too early to think about Skyfall/Hobbit/Madagascar 3 OWs! :PAs this is such a great year of UK BO, 15+ films should break the £20M mark in 2012 which would be amazing!Anyone know what year had the most £20M+ films for comparison?
-
Decent, $450M getting closer!
-
Shame it will be a while before it fully releases in Asia and South America, though Argentina and Singapore will be early indicators.I'm curious about numbers in Asia and Latin America, I wonder if it can succeed there, that will be interesting
-
But remember that Brave was always going to do very well in Scotland due to the Scottish theme of the film.In the rest of the UK it may not follow the same trend but of course it will still do well and it will be a close fight with IA4 for top animated gross this summer!BTW I am just loving the UK Summer 2012 BO, so strong! That's very impressive, imo.

True, it is a great WW comedy like Hangover.Helped by the internationally loved Family Guy!Big opening in Russia, it's clearly not an anglo thing
-
Nice Mondays indeed. B)As I said earlier, next week is going to be mental!Monday drops are solid, Ted 37% £1.13, TDKR 40% £0.8m, Brave passed £1.Next week is tricky, film are getting released after the Olympics, Bourne, Barve opening on Monday, Expendables previews on Thursday.
