Well they did own their own VFX workshop, so I guess thats what kept the budget down.
I enjoyed the first one much more than I should have done, it would have been better if they cut off the last 5 minutes.
yeah that shit was weird

10M$ budget and they gave us a very nice nuke scene in the first one. I'll be watching this.

Iron Man hits 300M$ for the 7th time! Goooooooo IM

Not requests, just For Your Consideration.
For 99, American Pie needs to be covered, this is the Scream of comedy. South Park and Fight Club are culturally still relevant.
For 2000, Crouching Tiger for Asian movie revival. Battlefield Earth (for all the wrong reasons). Snatch is a very good 2000 movie and gave us Jason Statham.

Nah 2009 is the year I'm looking forward to. ROTF and Avatar as well as Twilight exploding. There's gonna be something on Terminator Salvation, Puerto Rico, the F&F return. Maybe something on District 9, Watchmen, Paranormal Activity or Paul Blart.

yeah they better not keep the same genre as the original one you fucks.I meant slapstick comedy a la Kevin Hart.

I have a hard time seeing Kevin Hart taking care of Bryan Cranston. Will be interesting to see how they manage it. They better not turn this into a comedy.

Terrible reviews will generally affect people that are on the fence about seeing a movie or not. I sat out Transformer 5 (after seeing all other 4) when I saw the reviews were that bad. I still went to see BvS and SS even though they had bad reviews because I had decided way before the reviews came out that I would be seeing it no matter what.
RT to me is like the Bureau of Consumer Protection. It's here to help us choose good products and stay away from harmful entertainment.

Oh, you'd be surprised about the kind of prayers God answers for me and other Christians. He answers all kinds of prayers if they are in line with his will!
Here's a story that is relevant to film. I liked a movie that came out a few months ago. It was The Case for Christ, which I found to be a huge step up for Christian filmmaking in recent years.
I noticed that, while it was a deserving film, its domestic box office was fairly lacking for a wide release. That's when I got an idea.
I prayed to God about the film's gross. I told him that if the film failed to make it past $15 million, then I would campaign the film for the Best Overlooked Feature award at the coming Boffy Awards, and if it cleared past $15 million, then I would be happy that the film made the amount of money that it did and leave it at that. I told him that it was his decision to make about the gross and that I would trust in him and his will.
Do you want to know what God did?
God answered my prayer and gradually halted the film's growth into the higher end of $14 million. In other words, the film ended its run just shy of $15 million.
To me, this is surely a miracle. With the film being eligible for Best Overlooked Feature, I am going to campaign as hard as I can for the film to receive, at the very least, that one nomination. Because when it does, people of the box office forum community will look back on the deserving film they looked over and decide to watch what is, in my opinion, the faith-based answer to great journalism films like Spotlight.
God doesn't have certain things he worries about. He's big enough to be concerned with everything. Even a forum site like this one.
Wow... I have a hard time believing you are not trolling. This is so either funny or sad, can't figure out which one just yet.

I couldn't even write this post at first I was laughing so hard.
Valerian and The City of A Thousand Planets
5 PM showing.
There was me and four other people, which is actually more than I expected and less than was in A Monster Calls in January on a discount Tuesday. Go figure.
Trailers
Pitch Perfect 3 (That obesity joke gets a round of laughter every time)
Geostorm (the new one)Kingsman the Golden Circle (I've not seen the first one but I do quite like this one. How it's edited and the music choice. Just thought I'd say it.)
The Hitman's Bodyguard
Logan Lucky (a few laughs)
People laughed out loud a few times near the end but it was pretty quiet overall.
I also went to a 5pm showing. There were 4 people in total for the 3D showing. 2 people left because of technical issues (movie started late).

I understand the critics. Was looking forward to this, but I set my expectations too high. This is no Fifth Element.

I want to recommend some good faith-based films to you! Chariots of Fire, The Sound of Music, The Prince of Egypt, all the Narnia films, End of the Spear, Passion of the Christ, War Room (definitely War Room if you want an entertaining way to see what Christianity truly stands for (that's forgiveness and mercy by the way)), etc etc etc. There's some good ones out there man!
With that, I'm officially predicting that this film surpasses $100 Million domestic.
I guess you don't know what Religulous is. Suggesting me faith based movies is a waste of time on your part, I will never watch this type of movie. Ever.

One of these days, there's gonna be a faith-based film coming out in theaters that's too good to ignore. My advice to you is to keep your eyes peeled just in case so you don't miss out.
I've seen Religulous. It was faith centered.

Megan Leavey took a harder hit than expected with Per Location Average. I expect it to go over 100M when actuals come out and to make some strong double-bill numbers when Logan Lucky is released.
Probably meant 100K.

2017 is a good year to be a CBM fan, regardless if you are rooting for DC, Marvel or Fox. Hopefully Thor and JL will be on par with what we've had so far.

I think it was @langer who said it was tracking similarly to Suicide Squad in his area.
yes it's having the same # of Thursday and Friday screens as Suicide Squad. These are the movies I've been tracking. Keep in mind Birmingham AL is a small area.

Moana's first week on Blu Ray is about the same as Secret Life of Pets in terms of units, but below both Finding Dory and Zootopia. On the other hand, its $ figure is above all other 2016 animated movies with 36M$.
Like many others have said before, the $ / units on The-Numbers is puzzling to say the least.

We finally have some interesting numbers with the release of Dr Strange on Blu Ray. 25M$ on Blu Ray for its first week is below all 2016 CBM except X Men Apocalypse. This was also expected considering its DOM gross. The only other relevant release in the last 4 weeks is Trolls, a movie that was a mid size hit both on HV and in theaters. Its 29M$ on Blu Ray is currently about half of what the animated blockbusters made. Beauty and the Beast (1991) is about to become the 6th movie to reach 100M$ on Blu Ray.
There's only 4 more 2016 blockbusters left to appear on this chart (Rogue One, Moana, Sing and Fantastic Beasts).

I'M cheering for this movie. Besson has always provided interesting movie and this one looks good.

Not much to talk in the last 3 weeks.
Suicide Squad has passed both BvS and CA: Civil War in $ while trailing them in units. Same situation with Secret Life of Pets and Finding Dory. Zootopia is still the animated king of 2016 for the moment with 98M$, mostly due to very strong DVD sales compared to Blu Ray.
On another note, Frozen is now only 19M$ away from reaching 400M$, the first movie to reach this mark since the first Narnia movie in 2005. Avatar is only 5M$ away but Frozen has gotten 23M$ in sales since Sept 2015 while Avatar has gotten a meager 4M$.
Despicable Me has become only the 2nd movie released since 2010 to reach 200M$ on DVD (Frozen being the other one). Toy Story 3 with 191M$ should be the next (and probably last) one to reach it when the sequel gets released.
Here's the latest combined chart.

And you can add Lion King, more chance than Frozen and Toy Story imo.
You're right! Never been a fan of the Mouse/Buena Vista, but this will be very impressive from a BO perspective.

That 2019 films slate for Disney is going to be incredible.
They have 4 potential 400M$ movies (SW, Avengers, Frozen and Toy Story). Damn!
