  1. I personally don't understand how PR's marketing was bad. Oh well.40M+ is better than tracking.
  2. Just delete all that talk, I took it to PMs. Anyways, Pacific Rim looks to get 40M+ which IS FINE.
  3. Let's just keep the Thurs thread open until Nikki gets out her crystal ball and gives us a real Friday or weekend estimate.
  4. Isn't that what he said? Someone asked. "Let's just keep the Thurs thread open until Nikki gets out her crystal ball and gives us a real Friday or weekend estimate."
  5. Yes Sir. I guess there's a new rule that we have to wait for at least Nikki's first Friday or weekend projection. No more Friday Midnights/Previews leading into weekend threads.
  6. Basically current OS markets will put this at 340M or so.
  7. 3 movies with 40M+ again.Awesome.Hopefully there's room for good Holdovers.
  8. FRIDAY 7 AM, 4TH UPDATE: Official grosses are in for Thursday late shows and Friday midnights. Warner Bros says Legendary Pictures’ Pacific Rim overperformed with $3.6M - equal to last month’s late shows for World War Z which went on to earn an all-inclusive Thursday/Friday gross of $25.2M and weekend of $66.4M. Sony Pictures says Happy Madison’s Growns-Ups 2 also started with bigger than expected $2.3M late shows even though it’s a PG-13 family, non-fanboy, non-IMAX movie. Another big summer weekend shaping up.Let the weekend begin!
  9. Nah, Tarantino is good too.
  10. I'll be the first to say I enjoy his movies. All of them. I just think his chances at fucking up are slim because he doesn't make enough movies.
  11. Cameron has been around for about 30 years now and has about the same amount of movies as Nolan.
  12. Chris Nolan: He films on film (though digital directors produce great work as well), sparsely uses computer generated images unless absolutely necessary, and dedicates himself to his projects entirely. As a director, he takes a stance on being genuinely inventive and outgoing with his work. It makes no sense to have what Nolan has and then produce complete schlock. Schlock without merit, without credential, and without standing doesn’t get you an audience. Nolan is successful because his films do have a major audience and that audience wants to see more of his work. whatculture.com
  13. Who could forget Good ol Sam Jackson's role.
  14. I even liked Casino(even it felt like Scorcese remade Goodfellas at times )
  15. I think Baumer meant he's an average director who no one really overrates(because he doesn't get compliments to begin with).
