  1. Kinda knew the film would be frontloaded.

Seems to be happening quite a bit recently...perhaps with Thursday night previews being counted towards Friday total, its causing inflated opening days (shooting expectations up) before it simmers down on Saturday/Sunday...

  2. I got the new Interstellar trailer at my screening, but not the new Transformers one. :(What? No one feels bad for me?

I didn't get Interstellar or Transformers or Xmen or put whatever big upcoming summer blockbuster...No, what I got is some crappy Zach Braff movie, Expendables and some other shit I don't remember...

  3. While my most anticipated film of the year has come and passed, there are still many films I can't wait for, including Edge of Tomorrow, Transformers, Apes, Sin City 2, Interstellar, and Hobbit.

Yep for me it was Captain and it delivered more than I could have hoped for...now I am going to just enjoy the ride for the rest of the summer season and beyond...

  4. Just saw Godzilla.

Over all I have to say it was pretty good. Behind Captain for best of the year so far. I have to let it sink in but I think my only big issue was the long exposition but once it got going, fasten your seatbelts...

Do have to say it was pretty packed for a gloomy/rainy saturday afternoon.

James Cameron has magical powers allowing him to make movies which smash box office collections

  6. Million Dollar Arm at 7:20

Steak and Shake afterwards, either dinner or shakes depending on our appetite

Oh, and also, I went out and bought myself a copy of Fault in Our Stars to loan to her since earlier this week, she said she wanted to read it, but didn't want to buy a copy. It's a surprise :D

All this talk of first dates takes me back...went to see Attack of the Clones...forgot my wallet so she ended up paying for the tickets/concessions...

  7. I wouldn't be surprised if TASM3 is delayed by a year and the spinoffs cancelled. I think rushing out the sequels is hurting the franchise and an extra year's break may be beneficial. Not sure where it could go though, maybe July 4th weekend 2017

I want Sony to postpone the movie long enough so that it reverts back to Marvel...Too bad I don't have enough of Sony stock to email Kaz Hirai to make it so...

  8. Long time lurker, first time poster so hopefully doing this right...

    The Hobbit: DoS 2D

Cobb Theaters 16 - PBG, Florida

    12/25  - 12:45 Showing

    90% Full

    Trailers:

    Divergent - silence

Vampire Academy - crowd laughing and not the good kind

    Jupiter Ascending - some murmers

    300 RoaE - silence

    Movie:

I came down to Florida for the Holiday's and always try to catch a movie or two with the family. This time we had a few choices on which movie to see and we ended up picking this one for Christmas Day (American Hustle is still on the to see list). Speaking of the theatre/showing, I do have to say that it was freakishly empty 7-10 minutes before the showing which surprised me somewhat before hoardes of people came in making it a near sell out.

As for the movie, I have a hard time looking at this movie objectively with the LOTRs still being one of my favorite triologies and the first Hobbit letting me down. Therefore, I went in with lower expectations this time around and in the end DoS met my expectations and the pace was definitely tighter than the first movie which helped out. The crowd (mix between older, younger and families) overall was silent throughout most of the movie with some laughter during the barrel sequence contrasted with the extreme silence during the Smaug parts. I did hear a few wtf's at the ending.
