They are not killing any true profit, Cable was still the biggest source of profit of Disney last year no ?, and that mostly ESPN.

If the effort is better focused elsewhere, sell ESPN (for over 20 billions) do not close it (I cannot imagine you are being remotely serious), Rights will adjust itself over time with the new reality (they cannot not too).

You are correct that ESPN is one their biggest revenue drivers. The issue is that ESPN and to a certain extent even ABC operating margin is at a negative 8-10% variance year over year and it's not getting better forcing other units to pick up the slack.

They need to invest their money on the areas with a positive variance. Parks, movies, etc. And reduce costs in their TV area.

But I am just a bean counter and not in Iger's position.

I imagine you only wanted to say how much you were invested in them and not serious that they should shut down their most profitable (by far) asset.

ESPN is a sinkhole. The cable rights and operating costs are killing any true profits. The effort is better focused elsewhere.

A lot of us banking types are pushing for Apple to buy Disney. God I am cumming just over the possibility of being involved in that hostile takeover.

I just saw that Iger expects ESPNN+ to be profitable in 2023. No idea if that will be helpful for you or not.

F*ck that shit. They need to shut it down and fire all those people.

Hell they need cut more from Fox than what they are planning.

Mofos need to go higher considering how much I am invested in them. They need to sell or shut down ESPN and fire that deadweight division.

See, I have an extended family with wildly differing political views...but as you grow older, you learn that those views don't matter...family always comes 1st.  You find the common ground you do have - the love for each other, the stores of memories you have, the interests you share...and you enjoy them.  And you always be there when they need you.  Life is way too short not to be.  My dad, who died young, made us promise to be there for my mom and each other...and I can't imagine breaking that promise over a political view.

I'm always sad to see family who break over politics.  Why argue over them, when you can talk food, sports, games, movies, children, college, books, etc?  When you can try to escape a mystery room, play a game of Monopoly, throw a ball around, lay on a beach, go to a restaurant, enjoy a meal etc...find what unites you, not what breaks you:)...

Politics used to be 2% of a person's life...and we were so, so much more than our views.  We were us, with our skills, our strengths, our smiles, our personality, our interests, our flaws, our knowledge, our quirks, etc...

Okay, I'll stop there and get off the soap box now:)...

  6. I want to take my girlfriend on a special date but I don't know what to do. Any ideas BOT folks?

Shes an actress, well to do and for once I am totally lost. Hell me eluding that a gal like her doesn't date a guy like me, she made it painful by ensuring that I detailed it out.

  7. You know this whole college scandal, I mean who the f*ck pays that much for USC. It's not even a real school.

Yale I can understand somewhat even though they sullied my alma mater. Thank god MIT is not involved in this business. They have enough of an issue with it being a sausage fest admissions.
