Wait...they put a 5:30PM in...a little late, but I can hang around for that 🙂. I was about to chalk another missed movie up to weird COVID scheduling. I do middays, I got other things to see and do during primetime 🙂.

The theaters are making this really hard...7:15PM...no midday, you know 4-4:30...they wont come off that 7:15 🙂...I may see it tomorrow, if I can hang around the mall that late...or, move on to Suicide Squad...this is how I missed Spiral and Wrath of Man. They're both right here on streaming, guess Green Knight can wait for that too...

I liked:
-The bond between Snake Eyes and the future Storm Shadow. Even though it was a first a set up, and Snake Eyes is actually almost a villain here 🙂.
-The stealth aspect, in which Snake Eyes has to infiltrate the clan by passing the three tests. Then he gains their total trust, in order to steal the jewel. He must then hand the...powerful 😂...artifact over to the villain, in exchange for his father's killer.
-the HUGE third act battle, on two fronts, swords, martial arts, and the power of the jewel 😂!
-the fight scenes in general! There's Snake Eyes "saving" the future Storm Shadow, the villain tries to smuggle arms into the clan's territory, and the huge climactic fight. Along with smaller skirmishes.
-the HUGE CGI pythons in the pit, the third and final "test" for Snake Eyes to get "made" into the clan.
If you're an action, Mafia or martial arts movie fan, I can't fathom how you wouldn't be entertained by this 😂! You have to get your pulse checked 😂!

This is an example of what I mean when I say Marvel isn't really a CGI studio...
In the trailers, there appears to be a gigantic tentacled monster that the team is fighting. Also, King Shark is a fully CGI humanoid shark.
If this was a Marvel movie, that monster never happens...also, King Shark would have most likely been an actor with make up and SOME CGI.
You can't look at King Shark here and say, that's a man in a costume 🙂! Comics by their nature are absurd, and you have to embrace it!
Marvel tends to...not embrace that absurdity...the Thor movies have been Captain America)Iron Man movies, only with Thor in them 🙂. We all know the nine realms...how is it CGI only truly came into play with Surtur and Fenris in Thor 3?!
Aquaman's alien races, Guardians' mostly humanoid races...
Alright Annihilus! Negative Zone ruler...what are you gonna do? Avoid him? Side step him? He's an insectoid being 😂! Unless you're gonna make drastic changes, there's no way his insectoid body plan can be done with an actor and a Walmart halloween costume 😂! You gotta spend some cash!

You weren't invested in Snake Eyes infiltrating the "clan", and betraying them, to get the jewel, in order to get his hands on his father's killer?! The ACTION?!

WOW...people need to wake up on this. This is the BEST movie I've seen this year, and it's not even close 🙂.
Nevermind the GI Joe universe, they're only peripheral players here. At it's heart, it's a Yakuza/Mafia movie of vengeance, trust and betrayal.
The event that brings the two main characters together has you fully invested in the betrayals, the story.
The
jewel made Thanos' infinity gauntlet look like a water gun 😂. The villain was incinerating people from left to right.
The entire group of heroes gathered to confront the villain, and he could have easily roasted them with just a thought, and the movie is over 😂. Movie logic kicked in, and he's all of a sudden hesitant to cook the group, and they're given enough time to hatch their plan!😂!
In addition to the Mafia political story, there's a mystical FANTASY element in here!
The movie is Snake Eyes' origin story, but it's just as much the origin of the second guy too! You get his story, and his motivation!
The GI Joe universe is here...but those two characters, a villain and hero, seem like a cameo in this wonderful film.
I liked Old, I saw that yesterday, but it wasn't the #1 movie this weekend in my book 🙂.
A+, check this out, before it gets smothered by the big released in the next couple weeks 👍👍👍

I was supposed to do a Old/Snake Eyes double shot yesterday, but due to the theater COVID confusion, I just saw Old yesterday. It worked out anyway, because I got this in early today, before Snake Eyes.
Be prepared for your eardrums to get a major workout 🙂. Very NOISY movie, lots of screaming, yelling, wow 🙂...the movie is about
all the "contestants" being the smart survivors of previous games
. So you'd think there would be some poise, as they're solving the puzzles, but these guys are in a total screaming panic 😂. The screaming gets tiresome by the third act, but I'd recommend it if you liked the first one, there's some surprises for you 🙂.
It did a good job of catching you up to speed on what happened in the first movie, or if you're new to the series. You go through so many movies that you forget a lot. What I remembered about the first movie was the winter snow scene. There's similar outdoorsy puzzle here 🙂.
I can see a third movie...the end
was a cliff hanger, in which if the lead actress doesn't agree to return, they can write it so she died. If she comes back, they can script it so she survived the plane puzzle.

Cringe overacting from the Kang actor
🙂. It was absolutely hilarious though, when he's, like, sitting there relaxing at his desk, watching the two Loki's settle their disagreement 😂😂😂
I can see 😂...Kang is gonna have the typical Marvel Studios re-imagining 😂. I can see from the statue how the "evil variant" Kang will be portrayed in the MCU. He will have similar clothing, but will get the typical MCU treatment from the neck up 🙂.
Forget about the purple helmet thingy, and the blue face. What youre getting is the unhelmeted, unaltered face of Jonathan Majors 🙂.Hurts the suspension of disbelief, but oh well.I dont know if its just an ego thing that the actors put in the contracts, show my face, no helmets or masks 🙂? Or is it just Marvel trying to ground these characters?

There's a reason that SWAT teams use that big triangular armored shield, that they can crouch down behind...criminals aren't idiots, they'll aim for the legs 😂! Cap and TaskMaster's small circular shields are for SWORD defense 😂! Unless you're wearing full body armor, that shield is nothing against a barrage of bullets 😂! You're better off ducking behind cover!

Saw it today. It was mid-afternoon on a Sunday, so I missed the real cosplay crowd. The good news is that there were only TWO "gigglers" in the small crowd. The overly ticklish, human laugh track bulk of the Marvel Studios faithful 🙂. That will burst out laughing at all The jokes, funny or not. The reason Marvel keeps the gags coming, and why they'll never get an oscar 🙂.
The bad news is the two gigglers chose to sit RIGHT behind me 🙂. Red Gaurdian trying to fit in his old suit, the pig, HAHA HEE HEE!!! Okay...it was a joke 🙂...they were in an intoxicated giggle even when there wasn't any jokes.
Anyway, the old Captain America magic 🙂! A trained assassin only aims for your shield and not your exposed legs 😂!! The only thing Black Widow could aim at was TaskMaster's tiny shield in the initial encounter 😂!
Speaking of TaskMaster, he (she) had a Terminator walk, and a Jason/Michael Myers head tilt, when she sees another human 😂! She was badass though.
So Black Widow's little sister will now be a villain in the Hawkeye Disney+ series?!

Haha, I hit it right on the nose, 75-80M. Once I remembered that it was Disney+ same day, I lowered the number from 95-100, to an amount that was still greater than Fast 9! Fast 9 made 70, so Marvel would do 75-80!
