  1. I was one of the critics of the use of CGI, that could easily have been done by a real trained dog 😊. CGI characters should only be used when necessary. CGI creature or monster, rather than a man in a cheap halloween costume, for instance.

Some of the dog's movements did look stiff and robotic, but overall they did a nice job of making you forget that its a computer generated creation. Some of the stunts that were done, I guess CGI was necessary.

This is the kind of feel good, inspirational story that could have worked as counter-programing to Star Wars and Jumanji during the holiday season. Came out a couple months late.

You'll probably spend the first half of the movie wondering where the marquee star is 😊...but he eventually shows up, and it becomes a heartwarming buddy movie.

The grizzly bear 😂...intimidation display 😂...growl, slam its paw, splashing water 😂...A-

@4815162342 The Human Reaper from ME2 is getting its own origin story by Marvel. Nice.

On a serious note, this is certainly a off-the-walls concept, but if done right, it could have a pretty epic cosmic scope that'd play well with audiences. It could also do Ant-Man/Thor numbers tops. Who knows.

I wouldn't be surprised if they lock down Taika Waititi for this. After Thor: Ragnarok, there's no way they don't want him back. (I'm saying this but I'm not a huge fan of that movie, but it's kinda obvious a lot of people were and it was BY FAR the most successful and well liked Thor movie.)

I just put Ragnarok into the 3D Blu to watch it again, and it still holds up well as a top 5 MCU film 😊.

-Thor vs Surtur and his army in Muspelhiem

-Thor meets Doctor Strange at the Sanctum 😂

-Thor & Loki vs Hela while hurtling through the bi-frost at lightspeed, one of the coolest action scenes in the MCU

-Hela ANNIHILATING the entire Asgardian army

-Valkyrie taking out the scavengers, to capture Thor

    -Goldblum's eccentric GrandMaster 😂

-the huge reanimated Fenris Wolf approaches Hela like an adorable puppy 😂

    -Korg and Miek

-Thor vs Hulk in the arena

    -Hulk helps Thor distract Valkyrie

-Valkyrie forms the "Revengers" with Thor and Bruce Banner 😂

-Loki attempts to betray Thor again, but is outsmarted

-Banner jumps off the ship to transform into Hulk to battle Fenris, but crashes to the Rainbow Bridge with a thud 😂. Fenis takes a sniff at the lifeless Banner, and keeps running towards Heimdall.

-Loki arrives to Asgard in a huge ship with Korg, Miek, and other former Grandmaster prisoners, for a huge fight with Hela's undead army.

    -Thor vs Hela

-Fenris Wolf is about to maul Heimdall, when there's a tug on its tail from behind 😂. Banner had finally transformed back into Hulk!

-Skurge The Executioner doing the double rifle fire from the comics 😂

-HUGE CGI giant Surtur swinging his twilight sword out of the 3D picture 😂. I had been complaining about Marvel either avoiding Thor's epic gigantic foes, or downgrading them to smaller, costumed actors. I even expected a 9-foot tall Sutur here, like the Frost MIDGETS of the 2011 film, not the firey titan from the comics. So I 😲 at the big CGI Surtur at the beginning of the movie, and the giant one at the end! Marvel had been very frugal with this in the Thor franchise. Fenris too! It wasnt a normal sized dog or a practical costume, to be cheap? It was a monster that dwarfed Hulk!

With the quirky humor of Waititi, and Marvel finally getting around to bringing Thor's massive foes to life with cutting edge CGI movie technology, I feel that they had finally got a Thor solo movie right (With the huge Leviathans, the first Avengers movie put Thor in the right situation too).

A little concerned about "Love and Thunder", to be honest...I just got a feeling...this is gonna be some feminist/SJW propaganda stunt, and Thor will be portrayed as weak and useless for most of the movie. The only reason they probably got Portman back on board was to be the primary protagonist as the female Thor. I hope I'm wrong...I trust Waititi...

  3. So its just doing okay overseas? Oh well...is 500M possible? That would beat Rampage. A couple of the Resident Evil movies towards the end of the series did okay, about 300M worldwide. I know Sonic will do well in Japan, but I was hoping for a China breakout. The virus is going on there right now though.

    2020 Villain List update:

    #1 *new* Jim Carrey's Doctor Robotnik 😅

    Runner Up: Miles (The Turning)

    3. Black Mask (Birds of Prey)

  4. As a former fanatic, I'm happy for SEGA...they were the odd man out during the gaming home console corporate revolution, that saw Sony dominate, to this day, and introduced Microsoft to the industry. Yet here SEGA is today, possibly accomplishing what the other guys, even Sony couldn't-a true blockbuster videogame movie franchise 🙂.

Jim Carrey's Dr Robotnic is now the current 2020 villain of the year, unseating Miles (The Turning) 😄. I was skeptical when the producers pulled one of their "re-imagining" and turned the portly source material into a SLIM guy. My choice would have been someone like the Richard Jewell actor? They re-imagined Sonic too, but the uproar was huge, and they were forced to do the character right, but Robotic is still perfectly slim. Jim's performance though 😅...totally eclipsed the change in body type for the character! He made the character his own.

Sonic was loved by the kids, and they went bonkers over the after credits cameo 🙂. Man, SEGA has a huge opportunity here in the sequel, to get the billion mark. The origin is out of the way. Bring on the CGI masterminds, ditch earth for Sonic's colorful worlds, and I truly believe a billion is waiting in this sure to be trilogy.

Almost forgot, the producers are fans of The Rock apparently. Carrey does a take on "it doesnt matter what your name is!!", and Sonic has a Rock joke later on. Theyre ALSO fans of the FOX version of Quicksilver, from the X-Men movies. They...borrowed...Quicksilver's notorious time-stands-still action scenes.

  5. This could either turn out well, or it could be a huge disaster :). I was more of a Sega fanatic for the arcade (AM2) division (Virtua Fighter, House of the Dead, etc). I know though, that Sonic has a loyal fanbase. If the producers were truly honest about correcting the issues, fine. If it was just PR lip service to get the fans into the theater despite the changes...the backlash will be vicious :D.

They gave the character a human like appearance. The source character has a large head with jagged "hair" on top, with a little torso, and small arms and legs. The producers instead gave it human like proportions. I hope it all works out.

I'd love to see a Panzer Dragoon sci-fi fantasy adaptation, maybe House of the Dead as well.

I know you've already mentioned the characters were bland, but how was Kristen Stewart in general?

Um...it was the typical woman power role that's in style now, nothing new...the men are incompetent...that's going on here...

TJ Miller was the standout. Not every (sci-fi) horror film has to be totally dark and gloomy! I liked the comedy relief he brought to the movie.

  7. TJ Miller 😂...I first really noticed him in Transformers: Age of Extinction? I dont remember him in Cloverfield. Not really into the comedy genre so I missed a lot of that stuff.

Since then I've seen him in roles in movies I watch. Man...this is a funny, funny dude 😂. He's like a walking cartoon.

In Deadpool 2, he's acting like a toughguy, that's gonna refuse to give up info to Cable. As Cable is getting ready to torcher the info out of him, TJ is talking tough, while at the same time revealing the info Cable wants 😂!

Here, OMG he plays another comical character 😂...

  8. Just saw it...the AMC didnt have scheduled IMAX viewing ready. How about the standard showing...no big deal, right 🙂?

A cellphone would have came in handy in that day, huh 🙂

If you're expecting a lot of action...this might not be what you're getting...its more of a..."stealth" thing? Theres more sneaking around than actual combat.

The director and/or the producers LOVED the lengthy moving camera shot in the foxhole corridor. If I see one more crowded corridor...another trip down a crowded, cramped foxhole corridor 😂...wow, they were in love with that camera track shot.

Theres a little inspiration from The Revenant here, traversing and surviving the rough terrain?

I would give it a B+...dont go into it expecting loads of gung ho combat. Its more about stealth, and avoiding combat.

    Nice cameo at the end...

  9. Final 2019 Villain List:

Villain of 2019: Jake Gyllenhaal's Quentin Beck/Mysterio (Spider-Man:Far From Home)

Runner Up: Palpatine (Star Wars 9) "Fight together, DIE together!" 😂

    3. Joaquin Phoenix's Joker (Joker)
    4. IT/Pennywise The Clown (IT: Chapter 2)
    5. King Ghidorah (Godzilla; King of the Monsters)
    6. Thanos (Avengers: Endgame)
    7. Agent Shaw (Richard Jewell)

Gyllenhaal's heel turn promo in the bar, behind Peter Parker's back, erasing any doubt that he is the villain, seals the deal 😂
