  1. Ehh, I'm thinking like 25M? Even before the pandemic it never really felt like anybody was talking about it much and discussion in general seems really quiet about the movie. By comparison, it felt like way more people were buzzing and talking about Cruella at this point in time, albeit both positively and negatively. Of course, the last Jumanji movie kinda had those vibes going into that films' release IMO, so maybe this is the same thing? Either way, I don't think you're missing a thing by skipping it. I'm still planning to track it because I'm a glutton for numbers.
  2. Honestly I feel like even a super early PVOD release doesn't mean much. If you look at Croods 2 or Nobody or Wrath of Man, they both went digital after 17 days and still had fairly standard runs even after they were available on VOD. Low competition helps here too, but it seems, at least legs-wise, early VOD doesn't really hurt much. FWIW, there's no Futurist or Lordmandeep mucking things up. That's good progress.
  3. This is why I never come to these things. Somebody's gotta do the dirty work when the Queen's off on her own vices.
  4. Ehh, the Venom 2 trailer feels like it kind of came and went IMO. The ads for the first Venom were everywhere, which I don’t see at this point. It could change once we get closer to September, but it fees like it’ll do like the mid-100s in terms of domestic total
  5. If you follow his post history, he’s one of those dudes who loves to troll Disney movies whenever they slightly underperform. Dude also threw a hissy fit at the staff when we closed the Fanboy Wars thread. Pay him no mind
  6. I dug Luca, but it would not have been a big grosser or do 60M even during normal times. It’s pretty low key and most of the reactions are “it’s pretty good”, which doesnt signal to me anything in terms of crazy legs or a big debut. Cars 3 numbers, at least domestically, seemed like a good range in normal times IMO. In a way, I’m kind of glad about this going to D+ since it would have discouraged Pixar from low key, small scale stuff like Luca in the future

  9. Let me just take the time between all this Samba debate and BW speculation to recommend the movie Summer of Soul, particularly if it's playing at a theater near you. It's truly exciting, energetic stuff.
  10. Yeah unless it's like a Mel Gibson or Roseanne kind of deal, most people, even those who regularly watch movies, don't give a rat's ass about actors and their political leanings. Even then, a wretched creep like M*rk W*hlberg is still getting major leading roles. Whether or not that's a good thing is up to you of course.
  11. PSA also to please be careful here. We got a spoiler thread for a good reason
  12. It's now currently in the "random Regals are getting showtimes up but not for sale" phase here in Philly. Snake Eyes went through the same thing last week and just had its tickets up for sale today. So I'm assuming it'll probably also drop next Friday. Same distance of time as Cruella FWIW
  13. That last one seems a little too intense. I know it's too far off to really judge the story, but it doesn't seem like there's any real big hook for Guardians 3. And they're already gonna be in Thor 4 so people will already get a good Guardians fix by then.
  14. Ehh screw it, Phase 4 Predix Shang-Chi: 215M Eternals: 280M No Way Home: 410M Doctor Strange 2: 330M Thor 4: 410M Black Panther 2: 605M The Marvels: 375M Ant-Man 3: 270M Guardians 3: 350M I don't know if these are too optimistic or what, but I think doubting Papa Feige is fruitless at this stage. The Disney+ shows will probably also serve as good hype machines for Captain Marvel 2 and Doctor Strange 2, plus whatever else big crossover is in store.
  15. I never followed it in the first place. Join me on my path.
  16. Checking back on my old Controversial Predix thread with Han, I put in like 130M for the opening weekend. Probably in like March or April 2020 in normal times I probably would have predicted like 125M, on its way to a Ragnarok/Homecoming-style gross
