And yeah I also know that the OD for a Christmas movie isn't the end all be all, but it's still weird.
  3. Well I'm glad I got the normal trailer then, because the dreamlike visuals and tone sold me on the film way more than the louder teaser did. Feel like the IMAX version wouldn't do much for me.
  4. I got the normal trailer. What's different between that and the IMAX trailer? Remember to put in spoiler tags of course.
  5. Moderation Some of you guys didn't get the message, so I'll be a bit clearer. We're not insulting or attacking Ryan Gosling's apperance. It's disrespecful, mean, and incredibly rude, and offers nothing of value to this conversation. Do this again, and you will be threadbanned. This is also not the Henry Cavill thread. This is the place to talk about Barbie, so please talk about Barbie. Thank you.
  6. I mean I still think all 5 movies will happen. This is still getting near 2 billion and there's still enough positivity with this film and likely the future movies that they should still be able to comfortably make near 1.5 billion for each. 1 billion at least. Which yes, I know that's not what we all want, but still comfortable moneymakers, especially since these films also serve as vessels for new Disney World rides and merchandise. And that's what Disney really cares about in the end.
  7. I mean we already do. The opening post done for every big weekend encourages off-topic discussion, so long as things don’t go too far or distracts from recent numbers stuff. But nobody ever does off-topic posts anymore until this weekend.

  10. True Lies is up there for having the worst second act in history just on all the torture and abuse JLC goes through just so Cameron could find a shoehorned way to have her be in the finale. Genuinely baffled something this gross and sexist was considered appropriate for 1994 viewers. Really ruins what could have been an all-timer movie.
  11. Pretty sure neither is right at the moment lol. Just people throwing guesses around.
  12. Should give that a rewatch. I remember thinking it was obnoxious when I first saw it, but that was before I really became more tolerant and engaged towards Bay's style of filmmaking. Maybe when Bad Boys 4 comes out...eventually.
  13. BTW we as a culture need to stop saying Armageddon is Bay's best work. Like it's great during the first half of the movie, but then once they get on the asteroid, it's an absolute bore. Still on the side of The Rock for 90s Bay goodness.
  14. Is there a law that says a movie has to make a bajillion dollars to be Best Picture-worthy? If so, that is bleak and depressing and dumb
