I mean it probably would have done like 3M more? Like obviously more theaters help, but it doesn’t cause an extra 10M in gross like this. Tbh, the 3D was cool, but I honestly liked it when it was in 2D. It’s less distracting IMO, though it could be an issue of the HFR. It looked really weird at points tbh Gotta be honest, the “lol at all the haters saying it has no impact” is starting to lose its luster.

Guys, you know that Disney fans can watch two movies over one weekend? Do you seriously believe the average Disney Adult is going to be like "gee golly willikers I sure am excited for Strange World. But uh-oh! Some random Disney+ movie is also coming out at that weekend. I guess I am now forced by law to not see a movie I was excited about in theaters because apparently I am only allowed to see one thing on a holiday weekend where I have way more free time." This is the same thing when people are all "OMG what if the Game of Thrones final season hurts Endgame's box office???????????"

I mean his only blockbusters are Dune (which he is great in and is arguably not his usual fare) and Wonka, which I have faith will be adorable. He is still doing excellent work in indies and dramas, and that's the majority of what he is still doing even after he found acclaim and success. That's a big risk, but he's still doing it.

I mean...James Cameron's always had corny dialogue in his movies. That's a very important part of his charms as a filmmaker

I mean the 3D was cool I guess, but I don’t think I needed to see it and probably would have preferred it in 2D. The Avatar 2 scene was cool

It's one of those day-and-date things where you can get it on PVOD right now. Outside of 2021 and the occasional Peacock release, this stuff is typically not given a big theater push even in 250 locations and I think this was always meant to be straight to digital for whatever reason. But theaters need something to play, so 242 locations it is. I'm sure if this came out in 2023, they would have given this a wide release with a big ad campaign to capitalize on TGM's coattails.

That one for sure doesn't count in the same way it doesn't count for Curse of the Black Pearl or Country Bears. It's still adapting a ride and taking material from the ride into the movie. I do think Woman King also clarifies as an original here. The film says it's "Inspired by True Events", but it's still a fictional story with largely fictional characters apart from John Boyega as the king.
