  1. In this movie's defense, one of the biggest faults that GB '16 had overseas was its cast. Wiig and McCarthy only have a domestic pull, while McKinnon and Jones have zero. The biggest draw for overseas audiences was Christ Hemsworth. While this one will also have no-names and no starpower, at least this film can ride on the coattails of It/Stranger Things rather than rely on its actors.
  2. Still haven't seen the Jump Street movies, but I think this is the Lord/Miller scripted movie I like the least? Haven't seen Cloudy in a long time though. And of course, being last doesn't mean the movie's bad.
  3. Speaking of cameos though, there's one character who appears briefly that has not been spoiled in the marketing that made me and all the adults in the audience howl with laughter. Don't know how it went down at @WrathOfHan's screening, but I'm sure he knows who I'm talking about.
  4. Got out of it too. I now DEMAND Hollywood make a Tiffany Haddish-led musical. Her bars in that movie were magnificent. PTA, hire me as a songwriter.
  5. They’re fine. There aren’t a whole lot, and the songs are not particularly memorable, but well-animated. Hope Haddish headlines a musical
  6. Not as good as the first movie, but still very fun. Definitely some good jokes, if not as creative, and I loved Haddish’s character. Also has nice themes of childhood and even gender stereotypes. Got a very sweet ending too. Easily the best out of all the Lego continuations
  7. To be fair, most of the Best Picture nominees are either not in theaters or already out on digital. And with stuff like ASIB and BR, the people who wanted to see it likely already have months ago. And of the only movies in theaters not on digital, Green Book is the only one that has any appeal towards general moviegoers (Vice is diviceive, Favourite is very esoteric).
  8. The Upside's been following the performance of The Bucket List to a tee (minus Bucket's limited debut). It might even outpace Glass by the end. Don't think anyone expected that to happen.
  9. Further proof of the people's love for elephants. This is gonna explode!
  10. @aabattery @grim22 main thread
  11. @aabattery @grim22 Crazy to think that July 2020 has two things Reddit bros will be excited for.
  12. Get that wack-ass capeshit outta here. Papa Nolan's too good for that trash. (The Dark Knight movies aren't capeshit, they're art. I don't make the rules here)
  13. The big issue is that the Dunkirk thread was made 22 months before the movie came out. This thread got made 18 months before the movie comes out. That's a pretty big gap.
