  1. To be fair I think Liu is discrediting Chapek in a "45 day window is an experiment" kind of way. It still seems weird people are overblown and upset that a businessman is talking about movies...like a business, but I guess there's no such thing as bad publicity? (I do think there is btw, you don't have to argue with me on something I agree with )
  2. Moderation Fanboy/studio wars, especially ones that don’t offer any actual argument debate or intrigue, are for squares. Don’t be a square
  3. So you’re saying Bob Chapek pissed on his porch? Now things are starting to make sense.
  4. I’m one of those people watching it for the first time. Hoping to be done with at least season 2 or 3 by the time Newark drops
  5. Feel like Dune would do well on September 24, as it’s closer to the festival hype it’ll receive and has more breathing room before Bond. But of course, Max releases have a harsh ceiling no matter what, so I guess it doesn’t matter
  6. They’re still working on a Dune TV show for HBO Max. Warner knows there’s potential and it would be dumb of them to not utilize that
  7. I would be shocked if Denis and Lana don’t storm the offices of Warner or AT&T or whoever after this weekend. Both movies will open to 30M if they still go day and date and things will not be pretty
  8. Guys Gokira is always doing a dumb bit. A couple years back, he was parading on about how Kong Skull Island was set to be a bomb for the ages and that Power Rangers was going to be a mega smash even after both movies came out. Just ignore him and then he’ll eventually tire himself out or realize nobody finds his schtick amusing
  9. Taken care of. However, I suggest next time you use the Report button. I was in the middle of Free Guy, so i couldn’t do anything until right now, and reporting makes it easier for the staff to know about a problem

  11. Because they're not actually projecting this stuff, but just talking about the tracking expectations prior to opening. Even before COVID, when the trades talk about a movie even after the previews drop, they just say what the movie's tracking projections were and don't adjust when previews land. Endgame could have earned $3 million in previews and Deadline would have still been all "The film is still tracking for a $300M opening weekend". Don't ask me why they do it. Maybe they're only allowed to report what they were given or don't have a model to adjust or something along those lines.
  12. Gotta admit here that Don't Breathe's number was something I expected until yesterday, but the walk-ups I had yesterday for Don't Breathe were so otherworldly that I'm kind of confused and bummed that it just missed 1M. Yes I know that this number is still fine and the film will be profitable and yadda yadda yadda.

  14. Not sure what your "really" is for. Most folks posting are mentioning that the previews are good. The only ones having a meltdown so far...are the posters who always have a meltdown for everything.
  15. I finally saw the new trailer before Jungle Cruise this past Tuesday, and like...why can't I marry this entire cast? 🥺
