I'm on a timecrunch, so since I already did CRA a day ago, and nobody cares about Alpha...
Mile 22 comps:
119% of The Foreigner (15.7M)
54% of The Commuter (7.4M)
139% of 12 Strong (21.9M)
89% of 15;17 (11.2M)
73% of Death Wish (9.5M)
72% of Skyscraper (17.8M)
17% of The Meg (7.6M)
Well...yeah. It may not seem like a lot, but because a new major release came out, a couple of movies might have had their auditorium sizes and/or showtimes cut down. Stuff like M:I or Meg probably had to go to smaller auditoriums, or lose a few showtimes, which in turn does hurt their attendance and box office.
If this follows We're the Millers:
6M Wednesday
4.2M Thursday (-30.5%)
7.5M Friday (+81%)
9.1M Saturday (+21%)
6.7M Sunday (-26%)
23.3M 3-Day, 33.5M 5-Day
5-year gap doesn't make it a perfect comparison, but this does seem like a good ballpark.
Well, the good news is that new releases aren't being blacked out, since I can see Crazy Rich Asians.
The bad news is that I can only choose between that or The Meg.
