It's bizarre. I don't watch the show, but I assumed having them in it, they would think they would have added some cynicism or edge or a sardonic humor to it, but they made the blandest movie you could possibly make from this concept. They aren't amazing, but the Sonic movies have actual character arcs and good voice acting. They have better-written heroes and way more personality than this, which is just a patronizing 90-minute commercial for Nintendo products. But I guess that makes me a stupid moron who has some ultra bias against this poor innocent corporate product designed to sell theme park tickets. Oh well 🙄

But I at least sat through Pokémon 3 in its entirety. I remember watching some clips of The Amanda Show, which was one of my favorite things to watch growing up. I could barely get through 30 seconds of that garbage as an adult. How my parents tolerated me watching it every single day is beyond me.

I will never forget my brother and I going to a friend’s house. Brother was in high school and I was in middle school, and we saw our friend had Pokémon 3 on VHS. We were all so hyped and excited to relive the nostalgia again, only to discover it was the dumbest thing we had ever seen. Was probably my first instance of “wow, not everything I loved as a kid holds up.”

I’m excited for it as a Universal Monsters fan, but the trailers all have pretty awkward edits and jokes for something that is arguably a pretty tough sell. Plus I think Dracula is like Robin Hood or King Arthur where people know who they are but there isn’t a diehard fan base. And again, I’m saying as a fan

No they're legal. I actually took an edible to see Avatar with my brother. I was talking about the 18+ showing. I'm assuming this means you have to be 18 or older to attend, which sounds amazing to me.
