  1. Now a Justin Lin Ghostbusters would be amazing. Get Vin Diesel as Vigo, and I'm sure the scene where the Ghostbusters kill him off will be very cathartic.
  2. Honestly, the only thing Top Gun 2 doesn't have to do is bring back a dead cast member back to life via CGI. And all the principal actors are alive, so we're good. Afterlife is absolutely atrocious, but I think the Harold Ramis moment is one of those rare sequences in cinema that's so wretchedly godawful and despicable that it deserves any and all backlash given towards the entire movie solely on that moment.

  5. There's a great YouTube video all about the rise and fall of YA dystopia in the 2010s, and it really is fascinating to look back on these books and movies and how basic their commentary and satire was in hindsight. You would think a fad that was driven by strong, dynamic, and interesting female characters would be intersectional or at least have some unique look into sexism through a dystopia lens
  6. I was admittedly surprised Twilight nostalgia was in full effect last year when they all came out on Netflix, but that at least had paranormal romance, an evergreen story subject. YA dystopia just loses its luster when we have been living in a real-life dystopia ever since Mockingjay was out of the theater.
  7. Just letting you and everybody else know that Nash has seen a one month suspension and I really prefer if everybody move on from this. This is all water under the bridge at this point and we shouldn’t dwell on this any further, especially when the other party can’t respond
  8. Lionsgate time https://bleedingcool.com/movies/cinemacon-2022-lionsgate-presentation-liveblog/
  9. Sadly doesn’t seem like a nationwide thing. My local Regal, which is playing Everything Everywhere, only has it in standard shows. Fantastic Beasts is still playing in IMAX this weekend over there. And like I know Warner’s IMAX deal is super favorable towards their movie, but this is just pathetic
