Releasing 2 Lego movies in the same year was probably a bad idea.
Although they get away with releasing multiple Superhero movies in a year.

No one's mentioned the fact that Friend Request will be breaking a record this weekend!
Worst opening in 2500+ theaters!
Hasn't that record been broken 3 times this year?

It kinda sucks that shIT is the highest grossing horror movie given how not scary it is. At least The Exorcist earned that distinction by genuinely scaring the crap out of people.
At least it's an R rated movie and not PG13

The Jigsaw trailer is quickly reaching annoying stalker territory for me; I've gotten it at my last three movies for a total of four times. At least Flatliners is done terrorizing me because it's not in the Kingsman mix.
What about the Happy Death Day trailer?

You guys don't understand. Sony actually thinks the movie is really good and they're doing the Paramount strategy that they did with Arrival as a sign of confidence! #GoFlatliners
You should start a "Flatliners over Arrival" club

Easy IN if that were a club.
I made a Flatliners club!

I've said this several times before, but Friend Request is the type of horror film tweens and teens under 17 go to see and have a riot with their friends, except this one is rated R and therefore off limits for that crowd. The older crowd sure as shit won't care about this, and if they do, what's stopping them from watching it online right now or importing a Blu-Ray?
It did poorly over here when released and it had a lower rating. When I saw it opening night there where a few older people at it but that was it. No teens at all.

I keep seeing Jeepers Creepers 3 tickets selling, how many theatres is it opening in next week? I've seen more sales for that than a I have for Friend Request or Flatliners.

I wonder if the sequel has potential to increase even more OS, now that the people that didn't know it was based on a book, are buying the book, on the same way that happened with THG back in 2012? At least here in Brazil, most of persons had no idea it was based on a book, and the sales are blowing up! And I'm pretty sure it wasn't well known by most of the LA region and Asia as well. If it plays like a YA (when it comes to increasing in a sequel), Jesus Christ...
I dunno, I think part of the appeal of IT is the kids. I don't think an adult cast will be quite the same.

They could always do a prequel to IT set in the 50s and show some kids who weren't so lucky.

I was surprised at the amount of Jeepers Creepers 3 tickets I saw being sold on Pulse, saw about 15 go, saw 1 Friemd Request and 1 Flatliners sale in the time I was looking.

Between Get Out, Annabelle and It, I think R rated horror is the story of the year!

I was going to say, "Annabelle: Creation has haters?" That's an odd movie to hate on, in my opinion...
I seem to recall someone here was going at it hard and claimed it would drop like a rock after opening weekend.

I saw a clip for The Nun and it looked decent enough.

Looking at Pulse for a few minutes and saw 3 sales for Jeepers Creepers 3, 1 for Flatliners and zero for Friend Request.

I just saw a Shaun Of The Dead sale

It would need a serious walk up number. I didn't notice one sale for it while looking at the Fandango meter and I noted while I did note quite a few for the latest Indian wide release and some tickets for Mully - whatever that is...
I saw 2 or 3. Not much.

Next surprise will be Jigsaw opening to $100 million.... right?.... right?

Annabelle really hurt Annabelle Creation at the box office. It hurt it so much that Creation has hit 100mil.
Ouija 2 dropped from the first
Weekend Actuals (Page 61): Kingsman 39M | It 29.8M | Ninjago 20.4M | AA 6.3M | mother! 3.3M | Friend Request 2M (lol)

The dead August probably helped. If it was anything like that year GOTG and TMNT came out I doubt Creation would have made that much.
