3,384M admissions were sold this week, -10% vs 2021 (+1% in Paris)

Thor's opening is right in line with The Dark World (1,16M admissions) and Ragnarok (1,14M), but it had more previews than both. It has very little competition until september, but WOM is horrible (2.7/5 user score and dropping - in comparison TDW and Eternals are at 3.4, MoM is at 3.6). Maybe 2.2-2.3M total.

Fine start for Ducobu Président although behind previous installments. Should cross 1M admissions. La Nuit du 12 is doing extremely well with a strong PTA. WOM and reviews are great (4.1/4.5).

TGM and Decision To Leave are holding well, with the latter on track to become the biggest Park Chan Wook film in France (Handmaiden ended with 300 000 admissions). Arthur, Malédiction had a spectacular drop (-79%) and should sell less than 5% of what the original Arthur et les Minimoys film did (6,4M). Incroyable mais vrai became the biggest Quentin Dupieux film in France.

This week, Rodrigo Sorogoyen's latest film, As Bestas is off to a great start and sold 11 375 admissions on OD. 70-80k admissions if it follows El Reino. Joyeuse Retraite 2 had a weak od with 32 178 admissions (including 6 389 previews).

55m USD possible for TGM in long run?

  3. These are the achievable totals for TGM in NZ currently for a 4th spot in top 10 beating EG.

  4. These short durations between theatrical and OTT is killing audience visiting to theaters for sure.

My colleagues were saying they are planning to watch Thor LT on disney+ due to not so great reviews....had it been 2019...they would have watched it within-first 10 days...

    NT$634,854,454 / 2,602,126 attendees - Demon Slayer

The record will be down by Wed.

    Top Gun Maverick 's Mon - NT$2.9M / NT$630M

TGM will end up crossing 650m dethroning F8 for a 7th spot in Top 10 list. Transformers dark of the moon is at 6th spot with 762m which seems like unlikely at the moment.

Does Indian care trailer a lot? Look like star power is still a key here in India, for movie to become a hit. And there aren’t many Hindi-hit since pandemic. And I doubt many have seen FG in India to draw comparison between remake and original.

It depends, if any movie has good teaser, trailer cut that will definitely help in boosting any movies hype for sure....but for a movie like this opening will depend solely on amirs star power.....as WoM will be key...its a romantic drama which may not have many takers considering the fact that hindi market is still in a slump....and i feel aamir is more like a star whose movies run on WoM and hype only not the star himself like SRK or Salman.

You forget DS2 had mixed WOM  too and had BVS level legs ,can we all stop acting it wouldn't have  made way more(1.1bn+) even with Missing markets and ER .

Apply the same to thor 4 (900m+).

The only difference btn this and DS2  is that DS2 made almost 300m more than it's sequel which is huge jump and a 200m budget

,This is not making even ragnarok WW minus china and barely scratching past 700m on a 250m budget.

Money is clearly being left on the table due to audience reception.

I never missed Mixed WoM for MoM...the last line i clearly mentioned about it.

Guess we have to accept LT's WoM is worse than MoM.

Really  DS made 540m OS and 410m dom  of terrible legs  with the same conditions.

Thor with good wom could have done 400m+ Dom.+ 500m OS pretty well.

It's falling almost 200m below that.

    You clearly ignoring context here.

Thor LT suffered from lacklustre hype and its trailers were not upto the mark

LT wasn't as intriguing as MoM and add its WoM which added fuel to the fire....MoM had that NWH factor...people were hyped up during NWH itself and thats what made MoM open so big all over.

MoM had a upper hand in one department while LT lacked in both (Hype & WoM)
