The Guest 2 needs to happen! Ah. Event Horizon, what a fascinating little film. It was a huge bomb in the theater (making only 47M worldwide on a 60M budget) but apparently was so huge on video and DVD it made all its money back to the point where Paramount contacted Paul W.S. Anderson about making a director's cut but were unable to because the deleted footage was stored in a Transylvanian salt mine and degraded. yeah I will give 2 a pass because Vigo the Carpathian, Peter MacNicol, and some individual good scenes (I sometimes forget the Titanic scene is from 2 and not 1)

who has seen Adam Wingard's You're Next and The Guest? These movies are the tits and it makes it disappointing that his foray into franchise filmmaking have been mediocre to poor without any of the style these earlier films showed.

are you saying somehow The Marvels would have been successful without the strikes? Lolz Also Frozen Empire as weak as it is doing might still get over The Marvels domestic gross (a sequel to a 1 billion movie) on a much much lower budget

Godzilla 1998 still remains the king of admissions for American Godzilla movies!

Final 30 minutes are fun but the rest is pretty bad. Felt like the bad aspects of the Michael Bay Transformers movies. Brian Tyree Henry also clearly studied Anthony Anderson from the first Transformers with the goal of creating an even more annoying character than that. Dan Stevens was fun though.

I think Godzilla will top 70M but of course there will be some fan rush with early Thursday previews and many having Friday off

not to mention for some reasons making the movie “MUTOs with special guest star Godzilla”. It’s like if Jaws was about a giant squid for most of the movie and then they go “oh yeah there is also this other creature out there”

KOTM was hurt by the negative reception to Godzilla 2014. It was tracking for a weak opening before a single review came out
