  1. It's possible - The Wedding Ringer and RA/RA2 (as well as other urban-oriented films outside of January) have shown the target demographic to have higher preview multipliers. But yeah, it's early - it could still open to $7m.
  2. Another race to press number toss; at least these seem reasonable. KFP3 most likely to go up even though the others will play better into the evening.
  3. 50SOB does look D.O.A. but it posted 8,000+ Tweets on Wednesday and actually has the highest IMDB rank of the openers. Don't think RA2 is a perfect preview comp because of Hart's fanbase (unless one argues MW's is the same). I think there's still a shot for low double digits - A Haunted House 2 was a sequel nobody wanted - in that demographic or otherwise.
  4. If The Finest Hours fails to crack $10m, it will be Disney's first January PG-13 opener to do so in a decade - and those films didn't open nearly as wide.
  5. In 'Drop Mode', the percentage drop doesn't change when you make subsequent changes to the predictions. Whatever I entered first is what sticks. Is this an easy fix?
  6. Charged up for another intense Derby!

  7. Should be an interesting weekend to predict - snowstorm and NFL playoffs definitely had an impact on the B.O. this past weekend. Hopefully we see some better holds.
  8. Thanks, 8wombi7! I totally blew RA2 but it looks like few expected such a harsh drop for it. Hoping to see 100+ entries to close out January as many forgot to predict this past weekend.
  9. Has any thought been given to keeping all player predictions hidden until after the deadline?
  10. Oh wow, what a match-up this week...Matrix4You vs. last week's winner, ChipMunky!
  11. Very disappointed with my performance this week. The Derby (and especially the moviegoing public) can certainly be surprising. Just when you think you've figured them out, one finds themselves humbled by off-target predictions.
  12. My thoughts: Notifications - a forum announcement (preferably a banner message or similar) a day before is a must. Would the system be capable of generating an optional pop-up notification when the Derby opens and on the day before predictions close? Looks like we have a lot of players who don't even enter predictions until late Thursday, while many others have posted they totally forgot. I also think a configurable e-mail reminder is great, too - perfect for those who need it but can be disabled for those who don't. Stats - it would be neat to show how many Derby victories a player has. Aside from that, I think what we have now is great. There's been some suggestions about streamlining how we can view information about our Tournament opponents and anything to this end would be welcomed by most players. Fantasy League - I like the idea of the Round Robin, probably no more than 10-12 players per league. My suggestion would be to hold off on this until the Spring (or even start of Summer) until players can get situated playing the traditional Derby/Tournament. I'm working to recruit more players (who will be complete rookies at this) and giving them and everyone else time before Captain America kicks off Summer in May would be helpful. Thanks for all your hard work!
  13. Would it be any trouble to add a 'Rank' column on the Standings page like we have for the Weekly Scores?
  14. Norm of the North is a definite wildcard - reviews stink and marketing was poor - a bomb would be the logical presumption but it could perform respectably for what it is. The Big Short unexpectedly lost a chunk of theaters and will definitely impact the Derby this week. A pretty unkind theater drop, IMO.
  15. You can click on 'Weekly Scores' for this week, search for the player you want to check, then click the expand arrow on the left. It will bring up all of their predictions. (And perhaps a question for you or anyone...how do I get an Avatar on my profile here?)
  16. Sure glad I'm not in Wildbill's bracket - he's very good. I actually recognize a number of seasoned veterans and it will be fun seeing if any of the lower seeds can pull off an upset. 8wombi7 sounds familiar from my old Derby days so anticipating an interesting potential matchup with Panda next weekend!
  17. I know this thread is a little light on feedback at the outset but I'll provide some. I think it's really cool that you can take on an opponent each week - you get the opportunity to check out their stats and see what your competition looks like. It's neat looking ahead on other brackets to see who you might face the following week - it's like March Madness year-round, Box Office style. Sure, everyone's goal is to finish as well as they can in the regular Derby but this is another fun element to incorporate. I'd have no idea how to create the brackets like this and am sure appreciative someone figured it out! Looking forward to it finally being out of the test phase!
  18. Congrats once again to Matrix4You! Kind of surprised we're not predicting The Forest this weekend...
  19. This is one of the things I suggested at the former home of the original Derby and I'm thrilled to see it finally become a reality here! Thanks for adding another exciting dimension.
  20. Thanks for everything you're doing to squash bugs and make this a great player experience. Whatever you can do to make the display on mobile phones better is appreciated. Right now, the "percentage drop" view still has issues on my mobile phone and trying to adjust the columns is a cumbersome process.
  21. Our Minions second phase polling is the strongest computer animated OW interest we've ever tabulated, well ahead of Toy Story 3. This is going to be fun to watch OW.
