I do check out the weekend threads every weekend without posting and he seems to be having a hard time every week with something or someone. Like he is having his own kind of femme lesbian struggles.
I haven't watched most of these films, but they will most likely be in the top 25.
I have only watched the ones in bold.
The Dark Knight
Iron Man
WALL-E
Gran Torino
Mamma Mia!
Slumdog Millionaire
Wanted
The Reader
Doubt
Milk
The Wrestler
The Visitor
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
In Bruges
Tell No One
Happy-Go-Lucky
Man on Wire
Waltz with Bashir
Let the Right One In (2008)
Funny Games
Everyone who acts that way will have to eventually learn a lesson about their behavior one day and it just so happens to be EC’s lesson learning days. Some of us are not so lucky as EC. I don’t know if he will learn the lesson or it will just pass by him.
Definitely a good thing, normally when I post something that could hint at Avatar sequel possibly performing not as good as the original, someone touchy and aggressive responds. That was very good post, very insightful and civil.
I was also talking about the domestic box office, I have no idea where it will land on international numbers. The international audience sometimes seem to love what the Americans hate and vice versa so who the fuck knows.
Everyone should really be adapting their approach. Even if the numbers are bad they are going to under estimate so that we are surprised and happy with the actuals that jump 2m-5m in some cases from the estimates. The numbers just get better throughout the whole weekend and that has a good effect on people’s approach to what that certain movie has managed to make.
Their contributions will be better than nothing. Even if it’s 10 days or 2 weeks or a month before the year is over could tilt the edge to 2018 or match 2017.
Jumanji 2 and TGSM were never guaranteed mega grossers, but they still managed to hit 404m and 174m respectively. Something is definitely hiding in 2018 holiday season that could surprise its way to huge numbers.
The follow ups to movies that broke big records tend to fall/drop from their previous outings.
Jurassic Park > The Lost World
Avengers > Age of Ultron
The Force Awakens > The Last Jedi
Spider-Man > Spider-Man 2
The Dark Knight > The Dark Knight Rises
The Phantom Menace > Attack of the Clones
Star Wars > The Empire Strikes Back
Avatar sequel to follow next.
