I used to think it was just man-babies on the internet who hated Last Jedi, but judging by Solo's absolute rejection it looks like audiences gave it a collective shrug. Certainly didn't come close to hitting the cultural zeitgeist of Black Panther/Infinity War outside of maybe nerd-specific internet boards, so sub-$500m dom wouldn't surprise me :L
Show me some statistics that say people ignored Solo because TLJ was „badly received“. TLJ was divisive, but at the same time it means that it‘s wildly adored by many. I saw the movie three times with three different people. The one girl gave it a 6/10 and still hasn’t changed her mind, but the other two guys absolutely adored the movie, just some personal observation.

I’m not a fan of the trend that every female face looks the same in the recent WDAS and Pixar movies.

Let’s face it, December sucks and is boring without a new Star Wars episode.

This could very much become the best Pixar sequel/prequel since TS3
TS3 > I2 > Dory > Cars 3 > MU > Cars 2

The critical reception is a sight for sore eyes. 39% 5.5 average and a 53 on Metacritic. That is the most shocking thing by far regarding its run especially considering the critical track record of this franchise.
This film will do well enough (probably around $720m WW), so they're fine. But Rowling and WB need to pay attention to the critics in order to make better films.
I saw the film, and rank it higher than CoS and GoF. I need to see it one more time but right now it's a B/B-. Which is a shame because the final act is killer and the character of Leta Lestrange is simply one of my favorites in the entire universe. You can tell A LOT was cut...and Rowling needs help. Her imagination is as fertile as ever..and the CoG would have been the best in the entire series if she plotted it out more and gave more breathing room to some characters.
Nicolas Flamel was funny but totally unnecessary. He could have been cut completely and there would have been no difference to the film.
But yes, the last act is amazing. And my God, the music is fucking phenomenal in this film.
I‘m curious why you hate GoF so much? As a book purist, I guess you can criticize many decisions, but to me it is still one of the most entertaining. The climax on the graveyard still gives me goosebumps, Ralph Fiennes is just that good.

Being talentless (don't believe what the media says- she has no talent outside of a decent-at-best singing voice)
Go and watch her Coachella setlist, there will be articles written about that performance 50 years from now.

It felt like this movie came and went. I had a great time watching this in the theatre but I don‘t really have the desire to watch it over and over again like with other Pixar movies. Maybe the plain villain left a sour taste in my mouth, I don’t know.

I‘m not surprised by the I2 drop, weather is predicted to be fabulous today and on Saturday. Maybe Sunday can turn some things around for the family films.

Well, holidays are on the way and the weather is predicted to be much worth in the following days. Still a bummer and I think 3M adm are off the table.

I just came back from watching Incredibles 2. The animation was just on a whole other level compared to the first one and I‘m wondering if we can expect such a huge step again for Toy Story 4. I mean TS3 already looked really really good and I think we reached a point where the technological advances won‘t be as prominent as before.

And that gif pretty much sums up our government right now
I have the feeling that the end of Merkel has slowly come, she really did a great job in the 13 years of being the head of government. I‘m so worried who and what will come after her, I really am. But that’s off-topic.

Hey you know thats like the perfect facial expression for the German box office this year.

Pixar only had 2 movies over 4M adm, I think we should lower our expectations. Anything over 3M would be fine considering the situation of the market right now.

I already thought Rogue One being the most attended movie of 2016 with barely 4M adm was piss-poor, but if IW really takes the 2018 crown with 3,4M......

Is Gosling starting to look old?

If First Man delivers, Gosling will become my #1 actor of the decade. And I think he definitely has a draw with woman, they love him.
