  1. Retaining top spot in Korea with $6.2m for $24.8m, Edge of Tomorrow fought its way to an additional $37.4m, with around 5.1m admissions, for $181m to date overseas including $14.2m generated by IMAX.

The action sci-fi held well in China against the might ofGodzilla with a $9.3m weekend and a local tally of $49.7m, while Russia dropped just 19% in its second weekend to add $6.1m for $16.4m.

  2. Holiday has somehow got good WOM it seems, and it is holding very well. After that OD, I would have said that 100 crore (nett) is gone, but now it is looking like a possibility.

The first week will be over 65 crore. 2nd weekend may see only a 50% drop (that is very unusual for a big movie)!

More than wom its the only big movie of recent times. During IPL there was hardly any major release and now this have no competition. I think during normal time this would have done 60-70crrs.

  3. The special effects and visuals were amazing but the movie was mediocre overall...not a bad movie but not worth the hype...most of the acting was bland specially ATJ was awful imo. For hiding the monster and building the suspense and thrill, I think Cloverfield did a much better job. 6.5/10

  4. Queen seems to have picked up a lot at the box office thanks to good word of mouth. Kangana Ranaut looking to become a bankable actress, who would have predicted that 3 years ago.

She had always been talented..but bad choices of movies...brilliant in Woh Lamhe...quite good in Tanu Weds Manu...but well Queen is altogether on different level...both as performance and as movie.

  5. Damn these idiotic silly movies like CE, K3 and D3 keep getting blokcbuster...only good sign was more than 100crrs for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which was a good movie...rest in peace 3 Idiots..recently I noticed so many bollywood movies are in IMDB top 250 now (mainly aamir)...3 Idiots (at 143), Taare Zameen Par (134), Rang De Basanti(141), Lagaan (200)...and some more likely seem to join in a year or two...Swades, Dil Chahta Hai, Chak De India, Gangs of Wasseypur etc and few more.

  6. It's not a particularly surprising number. It's basically within a couple percentage points each day of what TH1 did: better Sunday, worse Monday, better Tuesday, worse Wednesday. After this weekend the daily percentages won't match up as well (since Christmas Eve/Christmas, New Year's Eve/New Year's fall on different days) but it should be very similar, percentage-wise, until Sunday.

Not shocking but a bit surprising indeed...as all the hype surrounding it to be better than the first so people were expecting better wom and legs...with softer opening compared to the first part and most people mentioning it to be better than the first this should have held better...but oh well...

  7. Didn't see the first and won't bother with this, but surprised at all the vitriol on here. Elsewhere the consensus is that it's the movie the first should have been. Oh well.

The consensus is mixed really...and even though RT rating is 6.8 which is marginally better than 6.6 of AUJ, overall this hardly does anything to have much difference in terms of quality from the first part. Actually I enjoyed AUJ more.

  8. Meh...first time I was bored with a movie set in middle-earth. The movie drags like anything after barrel sequence and while Tauriel character is good and charming but the romance literally throws off. While we are anxious to see how Thorin and Bilbo progress, Jackson serves platter of snooze fest romance...seriously what was Jackson thinking? The second half is poorly paced and without coherency. Even so much chattering with Smaug gets tiresome after couple of minutes. The sequence between Gandalf/Sauron was the best part about the movie.

Its not absolutely terrible but ain't great either..I will rate it 6-6.5/10 which is pretty good for a series like Narnia but not for middle-earth. I have watched LOTR countless times and even AUTJ twice but I don't have any enthusiasm to watch this again. Even thinking of trying make me feel that I might sleep if I try to catch it second time as its unnecessary long and eneven and bloated in several places. Dividing the book into three parts was bad bad bad decision.
