Tom Cruise has coaxed $89.4m out of audiences in around 40 territories and infiltrates Germany, Russia, Spain and Japan this weekend via Paramount Pictures International.

I am shocked at how awful the reviews have been for this
-
Box Office Mojo has seen a pathetic decline in quality and insight.
I used to love Ray's articles and now Keith's stuff is just utter crap.
Yeah...it will only need around 120-125% Friday jump for that

who cares about Scientology? who watches movies base on religion? Cruise himself has not talked publically about scientology in years...stop blaming religion and except an aging star fades naturally, he is still a draw, but not as potent
Its not just about the draw...he have still somewhat draw which stops movies from being flop...but when your movies keeps on failing to breakout even after good wom/reviews then there have to be something wrong..good wom definitely helps most of the movies...may be EOT was exception...but again MI5

Yea am really surprised at MI5's performance this week. I expected WOM to have a big impact.
Interesting to think maybe the stellar WOM's impact maybe less than anticipated? I find it a weird case esp that Antman's WOM wasn't better in any way than MI5
Maybe sometimes we over estimate how WOM can affect films whereas there are other factors that could come into play.
Or may be its just Scientology and Cruise...many people may not be that much eager to watch his movies no matter how good the reviews or wom are. EOT also with strong wom and reviews barely cracked 100m. And MI5 had everything going in its favor...a well received GP, good trailer, strong reviews, weak market but couldn't break out. After OW we expected good legs but surprisingly its been very mediocre so far. Cruise movies may not flop as he is making good movies, is a good actor and put lot of efforts but things have started to turn out such that if they are not going to flop they are not going to do big/huge numbers as well.

The reviews or WOM isn't helping MI5 at all...its struggling even to match AM
-
MI5 and JW clashing?
Not good...GP made around $70m here...with JW clash I think it will make may be half of that?
-
Out..around $150m
-
Too early to jump to conclusions...but I doubt studio will be very much enthusiastic for MI6 after these numbers
-
We can try to hide/spin our disappointments...but this number isn't good for RN...DBZ is trending second at movietickets after RN..so not so shocking results for it
FF early reviews are awfully bad at RT...they failed again?
-
Terrible start.
How?
-
Yeah crumbling...on the OW so many claims that JW legs won't be anywhere near Avengers after such a record breaking opening...the Avengers was loved by people and JW won't be able to get the same love from audience and the repeat business like Avengers...but now we are here discussing about Titanic...crumbling baby crumbling
-
They shouldn't give 4 years gap between mi5 and mi6...the sooner the better. .probably in 2017

I liked 20.5 better than 19.7..though around $54-55m ow is decent
-
MI3 didn't had such stellar reviews or wom..so I expect better legs and multiplier for MI5
-
21.0
18.5
16.0
55.5 M
Possible?
That sunday drop sounds too good to be true..may be more like $14-15m
-
$21m will be better..hopefully it goes above that and doesn't dip below
-
Lets hope its closer to RTH numbers than Gopher's...although Gopher gave the latest update
-
Lets hope Variety is closer than DHD/HR...and pushes it closer to $22m
-
If $18m is including previews then its not good at all...
-
Decent number...although no breakout

-
$923m OS...late legs have been good
-
Vary sad day...such a great loss...RIP

JW is VERY much liked movie..its not a great movie or masterpiece by any stretch like JP...yes it could have been better but some people here trying to be wannabe over smart labeling it as one of the worst are joke. It might be handful of them who hated/disliked but majority of audience seems to liked it if not loved it. Else it would have crumbled like SM3 after its gigantic opening. I don't see majority of people saying wow that was the best movie of the year...but I do see people telling...well that 2hrs was fun. And thats what I think bodes well for JW.
