  1. and Boyhood lose big at oscar night.... Tbh, I don't get the love of boyhood and I actually quite hate it, conflict is an essence of drama, but boyhood totally lack of that, but I liked moonlight despite both films share similar narrative...
  2. every movie especially blockbuster has their unrealistic moment, but that doesn't mean it is illogical or can't be happening. As for that piece of wood, space doesn't means the wood will float. The idea of that scene was to illustrate how jack's willingness to scarify his life for rose and how epic was his love ended like the way of titanic sank, not some Survival TV shows. Why am i typing so much to a folks who claim Manchester and moonlight are the worst?
  3. I love to see Logan to represent SH genre in the best picture field, or at least some other recognition beyond technical categories, but the playing field just suddenly become so congested and my hope on LOgan just keep fading.....
  4. Manchester could be a bad film and so to Moonlight, but to the extent of claiming that both films are the worst?? Something goes wrong with your body, your eyes and brain aren't connected....
  5. Tom hanks never receive any oscar's nom since cast away in 2001, not really sure voters are still with him since he was missed out with the best picture nominees that he was in(Bridge of Spies/Cap Phi) ....
  6. their box office run are closely resemble, but I find MOTOE will have higher odd than daddy to reach $100m, anyway, a win for daddy since I didn't expect people actually cares about it since I always thought daddyhome 1 wouldn't be that high if it wasn't for the spill over effect from SW7 in 2015, plus that terrible toxic RT score, it's nice to see people still want to see pure comedy drama
  7. isn't that #9 is a japanese anime Spirited away? new-release or re-release? It's an all time masterpiece, and you should see it if you are an animation fans, easily the best of animated feature, only some pixar films can come close

  9. Just when I thought JL's numbers have disappoint the whole world including fans, it's so glad to see that JL box office run didn't disappoint you.....
  10. It could be the 2017's version of arrival, some late-push required for $100m grosser and it is still pacing slightly ahead of Arrival now which means it is fine to consider the odd of $100m, only that MOTOE isn't receiving oscar bump like arrival in its late-run....
  11. that friday's increase was bad, but consider the increase are all meh across the board, so the increase was fine, the real problem is that awful wed's number, should JL performed as others, it should increase 10% and hence, the carry over effect will lift weekend number
  12. The intense competition are here for every year, coco just can hope for its best by using the leverage from pixar
  13. that wolf warrior 2's number has never been updated since early Sep, and exchange rate of yen fluctuated a lot over the course of 3 months of release in china. If they used 6.7 yen to 1USD (1st two weeks of release, when the craze was out of control), the total for china will be around $848m If they used the best, 6.48 to 1 as early Sep, the total will rise to $874m If they used the ex.rate of the week when movie finishes its run, 6.65 : 1 on 29/10, the total then will be $854m In this case, it seems that they use the favorable ex.rate to compute the WW2's OS total, lack of data here, but if we assume $854m as the final total, I wonder what countries then made up another $16m for that $870m
  14. both are ridiculously non-sense to be included in BP categories, they have win at the box office, that's much more than enough
  15. given how strong the mid-week numbers was for wonder, any figure that come below opening weekend was unsatisfying....
