@cannastop one of the best features of this board is the ignore feature. If you hover over a person's name on the left it will give you some options one of which is ignore - you can then choose what you want to ignore and if you ignore their posts you don't have to see them. Great way to hide posters that bother you without getting into flame wars.

    Bit of advice :)

Nah bro, I have just plain old mental ignore.

i haven't seen it yet but i typed "zootopia movie" into google and watching some clips right now it seems pretty edgy to me. really pushing the boundaries of what i thought could happen in a studio animated film.... oh wait. actually my phone autocorrected the search to "zoophilia movie" never mind.

    OK, you got me.

I didn't say the film wasn't edgy, I said making an animated film appeal to adults is not edgy. Learn to read.

The last thing you'd expect from a new Disney animated marshmallow is balls. But, hot damn, Zootopia comes ready to party hard. This baby has attitude, a potent feminist streak, a tough take on racism, and a  cinema-centric plot that references The Godfather, Chinatown and L.A. Confidential.

Five minutes into the film, and after a few laughs, though, it became clear that beneath its clever puns Zootopia‘s actually a sharp-witted commentary on modern race relations.

Many commentators have noted that this film goes far beyond usual in appealing to an adult audience.

    How is Zootopia edgy?

Well, it's subtle. It addresses issues that very few movies acknowledge, and it's all under the guise of a cute funny animal story.

    Spoiler

How about the moment where Judy reaches for her fox repellent after Nick chews her out for her press conference.

One of my friends took her son and said she enjoyed it more than he did.

Yeah, I've heard many reports of only adults laughing. My ten year old sister saw this movie (not with me) and she complained that it wasn't funny and that only grownups laughed. I guess 10 is about the right age when you think critically about movies, but not old enough to get most of the jokes.

Hell, I even heard this exchange when I left the auditorium.

Dad: How did you like it?

    12-year-old daughter: It was good.

    10-year old son: Good.

    Dad: It was awesome!
