That sunday drop bodes well for BR2049 legs at least. Could maybe still get to 100m domestic - obviously still quite disappointing number.

Seasonal first impressions - I checked out a huge amount and these are ones worth mentioning. Most of these are definitely on the slower side without much action. Shounen fans going to starved this season. Top two definitely outclass the rest but 3 to 7 had solid debuts with potential. The rest depend on your tastes but were enjoyable. I decided to put Clover at 10 simply due to lack of action on the list. 1. Ancient Magnus Bride 2. Children of Whales 3. Girls Last Tour 4. Kinos Journey 5. Land of the Lustrous 6. Garo Vanishing Line 7. Zodiac War 8. Konohana Kitan 9. Just Because 10. Black Clover There are still maybe 3-4 shows yet to debut. I think only one of those might be good though.

Its a sad year for big sci-fi blockbusters all bombing. Ghost in the Shell, BR2049 and Valerian.

The Gundam series is fairly strong. it often gets dismissed because its a staple mecha series but its got a lot of political warfare and strong messages. Check out Gundam Origin and Gundam Seed. This season is just about to rap up and I will start introducing some 'what to look out for next season.' Time travel seems to be the new trend of anime with another strong candidate for AOTS Orange. One morning, Naho Takamiya receives a letter in the mail claiming to be from herself 10 years in the future. The letter reveals a series of events that are supposed to take place that day. At first, Naho thinks it's just a prank; but when the letter mentions a transfer student named Kakeru Naruse, who really ends up transferring into her class later that day, she is forced to believe in its contents. Also Food Wars premieres on July the 2nd. Who is looking forward to some more food porn!

That seems like a really strong number. Maybe Sunday was a bit deflated.
