I think TASM will do well simply due to the lack of any similar films since Prometheus, it'll easily do £20-25m. It's got a six day opening so I think it can do £6-8m in that week alone, possibly £10m if it well received. I can also see Ice Age 4 doing great as well for the same reason.

Mamma Mia! Had insane legs, I saw it late into its run and it was still busy. RoA I doubt will have the same success.
-
I think Sandler will be fine, he'd had years where his film has not done well like Zohan and Funny , then he rebounds a year later, Grown Ups 2 should do well for him.
-
Is your cinema showing Fast Girls? Not that I think its going to do well but it'll be interesting to see how it performs. I imagine its going to be dead until TASM, really can't see The Five Year Engagement or Abraham Lincoln doing better.Rock of Ages was terrible at my cinema tonight.. like less than half the business of Snow White which is 3 weeks old :/
-
I enjoyed Rock of Ages but I do think its a hard sell, its target audience is likely going to be watching the football. Looks like Prometheus and MIB3 will remain on top.
-
I imagine they'll schedule films like Resident Evil or Frankenweenie but there's nothing major going in until Skyfall and The Hobbit although BFI haven't listed Skyfall but I imagine they'll do it at a later date.I think TDKR's biggest strength will be its IMAX run, the last saturday currently booking is close to half full already, so theroretically it could run there all the way to Skyfall.
-
I think if it can match The Avengers then its a success given that it doesn't have 3D to boost sales. £16m OW would still be good given TDK only did £11m Four days.TDKR has sold out 9 of 17 showings in the BFI for opening weekend so far. Even the 4:25 am show is nearly sold out. Also, it's almost sold out at my cinema, and the Manchester Odeon IMAX is already reporting a sellout, with other shows coming close.I've never seen tickets go so quickly. £18m could be on the table here.
-
I'm surprised anyone can get tickets, I'm still trying.
-
Prometheus' weekdays don't seem as strong for some reason, MIB3 could hit £20m as it has no competition until Spidey.
-
Not much, Two British films Ill Manors and A Fantastic Fear of Everything and Red Tails. What was opening this weekend in the UK?
-
Could MIB pull an upset and manage to be number 1 for the weekend. I'm guessing the new openers all bombed.
-
Football does hit attendance but it doesn't help that studios never release films that could attract the non-football, Rock of Ages is the exception but I don't see that doing more than £2-3m for its opening.I'd say around 50%. I wonder how much the euro matches this weekend will effect it...
-
I imagine MIB3 will be at £13-14m due to half term by the end of this week, I wonder if it can hit £20m total.
-
I believe it is, 18 rated films tend not be as successful hence why studios try and get a film to 15.Is that still the biggest 18 rated opening?
-
Hannibal's numbers are more extraordinary as it was released in February rather than summer.
-
Prometheus should have a good drop next week, even at 50% it'll still be at £3.3m as I can't see the new entries doing over £1m apart from maybe A Fantastic Fear of Everything.
-
Interesting that MIB3 is ahead of Snow White, the weather really impacted its OW but it seems to have picked up due to the Holidays.
-
MIB3 doesn't have much competition overseas until TASM so it'll likely continue to have good drops for another month,
-
I think Prometheus, MIB and SW will have a strong week, the only thing I can doing good in June is Rock of Ages but I can't see it doing more than £2-3m for its five day opening.
-
Men in Black stayed flat making up for its lackluster weekend, Snow White must have been third when you strip out previews.
-
That's £6.5m, that's very good considering it's a 15 rated sci-fi thriller but that would mean it didn't increase much if at all on Saturday,
-
I'm surprised by the real lack of family films apart from Top Cat and Men in Black 3, Dreamworks missed a trick by not scheduling Madagascar 3 for this half term rather than next half term. MIB3 I think will likely hoover up the family audience for half term.Prometheus I think £20m+ seems likely at this point, it'll really depend on how it drops next week, 50-60% would be fine.
-
Either Nikki got it wrong or it must have had a bad Thursday, it was packed when I saw it on Friday.Prometheus should have a great OW but I'm unsure whether it has staying power like the Avengers which has had an amazing run so far. The football will definetly hit cinema attendance as well as the lack of big films.
-
Snow White has only done $2.6m from Wednesday-Friday, it'll be second due to its five day opening but it wouldn't surprise if MIB3 edges it for the weekend.

Ice Age 4 is getting weekend previews on 7/8 July which could dent TASM.
