  1. I think TASM will do well simply due to the lack of any similar films since Prometheus, it'll easily do £20-25m. It's got a six day opening so I think it can do £6-8m in that week alone, possibly £10m if it well received. I can also see Ice Age 4 doing great as well for the same reason.

  2. Rock of Ages was terrible at my cinema tonight.. like less than half the business of Snow White which is 3 weeks old :/

Is your cinema showing Fast Girls? Not that I think its going to do well but it'll be interesting to see how it performs. I imagine its going to be dead until TASM, really can't see The Five Year Engagement or Abraham Lincoln doing better.
  3. I think TDKR's biggest strength will be its IMAX run, the last saturday currently booking is close to half full already, so theroretically it could run there all the way to Skyfall.

I imagine they'll schedule films like Resident Evil or Frankenweenie but there's nothing major going in until Skyfall and The Hobbit although BFI haven't listed Skyfall but I imagine they'll do it at a later date.
  4. TDKR has sold out 9 of 17 showings in the BFI for opening weekend so far. Even the 4:25 am show is nearly sold out. Also, it's almost sold out at my cinema, and the Manchester Odeon IMAX is already reporting a sellout, with other shows coming close.I've never seen tickets go so quickly. £18m could be on the table here.

I think if it can match The Avengers then its a success given that it doesn't have 3D to boost sales. £16m OW would still be good given TDK only did £11m Four days.
  5. I'd say around 50%. I wonder how much the euro matches this weekend will effect it...

Football does hit attendance but it doesn't help that studios never release films that could attract the non-football, Rock of Ages is the exception but I don't see that doing more than £2-3m for its opening.
  6. I'm surprised by the real lack of family films apart from Top Cat and Men in Black 3, Dreamworks missed a trick by not scheduling Madagascar 3 for this half term rather than next half term. MIB3 I think will likely hoover up the family audience for half term.Prometheus I think £20m+ seems likely at this point, it'll really depend on how it drops next week, 50-60% would be fine.

  7. Either Nikki got it wrong or it must have had a bad Thursday, it was packed when I saw it on Friday.Prometheus should have a great OW but I'm unsure whether it has staying power like the Avengers which has had an amazing run so far. The football will definetly hit cinema attendance as well as the lack of big films.
