  1. Gave me the damn error the first time I tried but the second one was a go, thank god it didn't take 20 minutes like last week since I have to go to sleep early to catch a flight tomorrow.

    Spoiler

Let me express my shock that Hayward lied about Wanda taking Vision's body and laying it on thick with that "against his living will" shit. Liar!

White!Vision is freaky af though and I wonder what'll end up happening with it/him. I'm guessing there's no link with actual Vision being that Wanda said she couldn't feel him?

Was awesome to see Wanda survive the mind stone and makes me wonder what happened with Pietro for him to get his powers. And it was cool seeing Agatha's origin as well, I hope she doesn't just die at the end of this, she seems like too good of a character to just off like that. We shall see.

Definitely gonna have to watch that again of course, but damn, poor Wanda. I'm glad we got to see her actual experiences since that's what's missing from the movies since she doesn't get much screentime. It's one thing to hear about it but it's another to see it, like watching her whole life blow up as a child and how that would affect anyone, let alone someone so young. And then to have it pile on between her parents, then her brother and then eventually losing Vision. She finally had someone she was happy with and she had to kill him first and then watch him die again.

Can't wait for next week and how it's going to play into Dr Strange eventually.

    Spoiler

She's had a few aliases, Spectrum, Photon, and was the first female Captain Marvel. Since her mother's call sign was Photon they might be going with that, and there was Spectrum News Channel at SWORD in episode four as an easter egg.

  3. Idk if it was just me but it took me 20 bloody minutes to get this episode going. Boo!

    Edit:

    So it wasn't just me.

Me being on my phone while the credits played and then us getting another scene was a very pleasant surprise. When that happened for Mando S2 I didn't realise until I got online so I was glad I caught it.

    Spoiler

A more low-key transition episode but I liked seeing Wanda's control slipping and then Monica almost being able to get through to her at the end, only to be undone by Agatha, who I'm not familiar with her since I don't do comics but she looks interesting for sure. Speaking of Monica, it was super awesome to see her get her powers and that taste of them with her being able to see what she could. Plus the suit she was wearing giving a nod to her comic outfit was cool. If it went further with Wanda we could've seen some of her other powers but I suppose we'll have to wait.

Definitely see it ramping up for the last two episodes, and I'm looking forward to seeing what's going on with Agatha. It was good to find out that she'd sent "Pietro", particularly with the way he was acting last week, with him encouraging her about what she was doing with the Hex. And him being sent in the first place when Vision was getting Wanda to start questioning what was happening.

Raya finally showed up on Hoyts website in both Australia and New Zealand (no showtimes yet by the look), hopefully Event Cinemas joins soon.

Either way leaving it late with only about 2 weeks left until

    it releases.

Reading also have it up and they have one showing per day for the first week on sale there at the moment. 👍 https://readingcinemas.co.nz/movies/advanced-tickets

I honestly wonder if Event Cinemas are pissed at Disney at the moment for skipping theatrical for Soul and Mulan, because they still haven't put BW back up on their Coming Soon page, although since I put it on my Watchlist back before all these moves I can still see it pending (70 days currently, I'll believe that when I see it). But also at WW84 in IMAX they showed the trailer for Top Gun which is due to come out after BW does and they've been showing it forever since I saw it when I went to see Tenet there a few times. But the BW trailer hasn't been shown at all.

I also saw Tenet at Reading and they showed a BW trailer there, so I have my suspicions. They'd have to be crazy to not show Raya but I just thought it was interesting how they've been avoiding Disney after they pulled their films from theatres.

  5. Spoiler

Forgot about that goddamn ad, wtf was that. Definitely the most overtly disturbing one of them all, oof.

Pietro was also giving me Ace Ventura 2 vibes with that hair now that I think about it. 😂

Is Hayward going all bureaucratic baddie predictable? Maybe. But I see it as realistic since governments in the MCU have been doing this shit forever. It's always about control and they fear what they can't control, he had the same dehumanising thing going on as Ross did when he was calling Hulk and Thor megaton nukes. I'm still reserving my judgment until we get the full story but maybe not all is as it seems on that front, I'm willing to see what good they can do in protecting people as well and I'm sure Hayward is trying to do the right thing on some level, just not with the best approach. They just need to work on finding the balance, because while what Wanda is doing is wrong, sometimes just trying to destroy the problem can make things worse.

    Spoiler

Been a while since I watched an episode but that was Malcolm in the Middle at the beginning, right? And towards the end of the episode it seemed like Gilmore Girls? Is that a sitcom though?

Really liked that episode and how they balanced the show with SWORD and how we're finding out more with Wanda openly talking with Pietro about what's happening and Vision going off and doing his own thing. Vision not knowing what an Avenger was makes sense but still surprised me when he said it. And I couldn't help but wonder if he was returning to his dead state when he was leaving the hex or if it was just the power pulling him apart.

That ending was obviously amazing and leaves us with so many questions as per usual. Darcy and most of them getting sucked in just leaving Jimmy, Monica and Hayward to deal. I kinda can't wait to see how he handles losing control of the situation so much and if we see any more agencies or back-up that we know show up.

Full subtitles for episode 6 leaked this morning. If you’re averse to spoilers might want to more on guard than you would normally need to on Thursday.

Avoiding twitter until I see it tonight then, thanks for the heads up.

What's with all these damn leaks though, jesus. Disney need to get their shit together, it's one thing for story stuff to leak, but subtitles? Wtf. Did Mando leak this much? I wasn't in the fandom as deep for that but I don't recall having to watch out like I'm having to for this.

I think this show will be the most accessible to casuals though I personally think the biggest MCU show will be Loki.

Agreed, Loki is super popular and that trailer was amazing. Like, I've always been very much looking forward to it and had my hopes high and it still destroyed my expectations. Dat music alone.

No listing for Raya is up for Event or Hoyts here yet, maybe they aren’t showing it due to day and date with Disney+ which would be disappointing.

Still planning on watching it in cinemas first but if that isn’t an option will have to take the plunge and just get it on Disney+ as I’m really looking forward to this.

I mean, they'd have to be crazy not to show it, no? Plus I could've sworn I saw it listed on the Hoyts site the other day but now I can't find it. I just saw this on the NZ Disney+ page so at least it will be released here in cinemas, which I was getting kinda worried about tbh.

I'll definitely be seeing it in theatres as well because lol no at watching any movies on TV if I don't have to. :D I could see them sticking session times up later so I'll just be stalking the pages for the next few weeks I guess.

here too, but sadly still no CM or lots of others out of MCU

I think it might have to do with actors being paid for their likeness being used, because up until now all of the available ones for all of them except the Disney Channel are animated, CG, or have helmets on. Maybe when their contracts for Disney+ shows were drawn up they included that which is why we're only just now getting actual actors faces. It's just a theory but it fits, especially since we know they didn't use Giselle much since they'd have to pay Amy Adams for the rights to her likeness. So it makes sense they'd chuck that in the new contracts for the Disney+ shows.

I'd like to see Carol and other MCU ladies get icons  as well, maybe they will eventually. :)

Yeah, cause kidnapping an entire town and mentally torturing them to play out a deranged coping mechanism with a person who doesn’t want to be there is totally innocent and angelic behavior.

That man was just stating facts.

And even if there is some like larger being that triggered this psychotic break, she is clearly a willing participant and she’s in control of her actions. We saw that when she came out of the Hex and told them to get off my lawn.

    Spoiler

I was more referring to him implying she willingly worked for HYDRA when they were pretending to be SHIELD and acting as though what happened in Lagos wasn't just her failing to have enough power to stop the explosion from hitting the building as opposed to acting like she was responsible for the bomb going off in the first place. What she's doing now, whatever level of control or responsibility she does end up having, doesn't change that he oversimplified her past to make her sound worse, and it seems a little red flag-y to me. There's a big difference between thinking you're working for SHIELD when it's really HYDRA and working for HYDRA knowingly, but he skimmed right over that.

On a separate note, baby Vision is killing me. 😂

  12. Spoiler

If that was the big spoiler that got leaked then I already read that rumour aaaages ago lol. While I do try to avoid stuff like that being in fandom can be a bit of a minefield that way, so oh well.

Loved that Agnes broke character and Vision noticed, and then he unwhammied Norm later so we could see how people still inside are kinda aware. And dayum at Wanda actually going out to confront SWORD and telling them to stay out of the way. But the more they tell me Wanda is the one controlling everything the more I don't think it is, but I have a ton of questions, particularly to do with her breaking into SWORD to get Vision's body. And is is just me or did she have a bit of her Sokovian accent when she went out into the real world? Thought that was a nice touch and made her sound more threatening since that's more how she sounded when she was an antagonist.

I guess the SWORD dude may be evil in some way or have some kind of agenda, the way he was painting Wanda in a bad light while Monica was defending her was a big hint, like how he skimmed over the fact that HYDRA were pretending to be SHIELD, since she joined what she thought was SHIELD at the time. So I'll be looking forward to seeing how that goes, or maybe he's just the usual commanding asshole like Ross who sees any powered people as threats he wants to control.

That fight at the end with Vision was huge though, especially since the show had been talking earlier about how she was behind it all but she seemed confused herself when he confronted her about it, even though she wasn't when she went into the real world earlier. Makes sense there'd be a higher power out there maybe she made a deal with or who took advantage of her? She pointed out she wasn't making everyone live their lives, but it's hard to tell. As for Recast!Pietro, now that is a cliffhanger. I thought they might leave it until next week but I'm glad we got to see it.

Lastly, loved Jimmy and Darcy arguing over who was better against Thanos, Carol or Wanda (the answer is they were both awesome of course), and then Monica's reaction and changing of the subject when Carol came up. Now that just makes me look forward to CM2 even more and makes me wonder what kind of relationship we'll be getting there.

Big spoilers going around so careful on social media.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm gonna be extra careful now. I do go on twitter a lot but the people I follow aren't overly fandom related (I find a lot of twitter fandom annoying af tbh) so I should be ok as long as I don't click into comments on the official accounts or go into the tags. I guess that's the trade-off for weekly episodes vs season dumps, but I much prefer the way they're doing it so it's just something I'll have to watch my step over.

I did see some headline about a character coming up that got spoiled by a voice actor who does dubbing a week ago but haven't caught anything further about it so far, so fingers crossed my luck holds out.

(I probably just jinxed myself and the next time I refresh twitter I'll be instantly hit with spoilers. 😂)

The snap/resurrection flashback scene was wild.

    Spoiler

At first when Monica unsnapped I thought it was her powers or something until you saw it happening to everyone else. It was awesome to see people actually coming back physically, it was cool we got to watch it actually happen and realise the people never knew they were gone. Heartbreaking that Maria passed while she was missing though, that really got to me for sure.

It was also interesting that the sheriff didn't know what the hell they were talking about, could they not see the sign and the town at all, or were they saying it wasn't there before? I'm guessing the former since they didn't seem shocked at it being there when it hadn't been previously.

I try not to read too much spec about what could be happening since I know there are spoilers out there (not sure if they're legit but I'd rather not risk it) and maybe people who know the comics can figure out what characters might be involved, but the more they try to point to Wanda as the culprit the more I think something else is there behind it all. It definitely made me wonder about her with that glimpse of Vision's dead face from IW though, but I'm eager to see what's going on.

For people who've had issues with the sitcom-ness of it, I'm sure this episode will be a welcome one since it's more what we're used to and also explains what's been going on to a point. Can't wait to see how it develops from here on out. :D

Yep can now see why critics got this episode along with the first two. Despite the sitcom shenanigans I genuinely got emotional when Wanda was able to carry her two babies. You feel like this is a reality she wished was real and got chills when Pietro was mentioned and ofc when Monica mentioned Ultron.

Also the rewind with Vision had me thinking something was wrong with my TV lol

    Spoiler

Lol I thought the episode glitched for s sec there as well.

I forgot to mention Wanda singing to the twins, it must've been some Sokovian song. That whole part was really well done and it was good to see him brought up after so many years of her never mentioning him.

I think this is first time we are actually seeing Wanda talk about Pietro. Every time we see Wanda in MCU, there was some other shit getting loose. We really needed more deeper in universe MCU content. D+ is a blessing.

    Spoiler

It really is great to get to delve deeper into characters who wouldn't usually get the opportunity, which is why I'm super excited for FaTWS and Loki as those three characters having stories just about them instead of a few minutes of general screentime is going to be amazing.

I loved that she talked about Pietro when she was looking at her twins, and then the way things changed when she did. Then "Geraldine" brought up Ultron, it's like she was trying to snap Wanda out of her make believe world but then she got kicked out, not to mention Wanda reversing time again when Vision started to bring up the weirdness of their lives. I'm very intrigued as to how this is going to play out and particularly who the other people are in the town after Herb and Agnes were talking the way they were. How much are they aware of and how much is Wanda aware of? And then you add the watching TV aspect and what sounded like Jimmy Woo's voice asking who was doing this to Wanda last week. So many questions.
