For reference you can probably picture Rocket from GoTG as sonic but running fast I guess. 🤔
that would be amazing! who's playing Sonic? cause big reason why Rocket works is Bradley. he is Rocket so people forget there's an actor.

Maybe, if it's self-referrential like a WAG film with existing properties involved. I'm excited for it but I couldn't tell you who this was for. Sonic Boom fans?
Is it a mix of animation (Sonic) and live action (actors)? Then it'll target Turtles/Chipmunks/Smurfs market too. Just my guess.

is this supposed to be big? I'm serious. I know nothing about Sonic.

Yesss, Venom stays above 18M!

I'm devastated but if that results in another great movie, even better than the first, why not?

Goose is not a star
Previews looked boring af
niche interest
GoT actor curse (same guy sunk JL, Red Sparrow, John Carter and countless other movies)

maybe they don't want competition with CM and measuring who got better reviews/made more money. That's smart on their part.

see my post above! Young Quaritch is my bet.
Alita is testing for avatar 2
damn if they pull it off perfectly.

yeah, if that mo'cap wrap up is a spoiler, than Quaritch is a Na'vi now. which makes sense cause how else they would bring him back? Gotta be consciousness transfer. Maybe he didn't die, just went comatose at the end of Avatar.
Also, he'll totally freak out that he can't be anything else!

Hems better hope this is a success. If not, i don't see studios giving him other tentpoles. And with Thor over, i can't see him nabbing character roles in indie films. He's made for big budget movies, but so far they haven't panned out
too bad if character roles allude him cause he has more talent than given credit for. he was excellent in little seen movies such as Rush and in small roles in some comedies.
BTW, did Liam give up acting? (good!)

so Episode IX is dodging the bullet if Jumanji sequel isn't ready for Dec 2019. Luck favors JJ.

That Mid90s gross is pretty amazing. It’s $40K above the much more hyped Beautiful Boy’s debut in the same number of theaters last weekend. It is also more than twice the gross of Oscar buzzy Can You Ever Forgive Me? which opened in one more theater.
Sure, it is not nearly as flashy as the massive Halloween opening; but it is still very impressive.
I'm so happy for Jonah! critics praised the movie, PTA is awesome and RT audience score is 96%!

290.7 current os + 50 more in current markets after 32.3 weekend + 85 china + 15 japan = 441 os
add to that 210 dom, 651 ww.
china could add 20-40 more than 85 and keep 675-700 very much live.
I hope so. I hope it makes more than Doctor strange WW since dom isn't going to happen.

It's done great so far against massive (but not direct) competition. Next weekend is dead so that will help. But Behomian Rapesody will probably cut its weekend gross in half.
I don't think so. ASIB is a romance. yes, it has music but it's different from BR. Drop will likely be bigger but not catastrophic.

nothing is over til actuals. some movies get underestimated by couple of millions. Also, fudge away. if no1curr AWIT could be fudged to 100M why not the OW of the movie people actually care about?

If an actor has an age gap to an actor you compare her/him too you might want to look up movies done at a similar age before judging.
Also: females have usually way more problems to get roles over a certain age, if someone has an ongoing career there is usually a reason for it. Or two...
I would like to check those movies out cause she did get raves for them and Fish Called Wanda is apparently a comedy classic? I'm not very familiar with comedy cause my second least favorite genre after animation. But it's supposedly really good and referenced in other movies.
re: movie with Lohan. OK, so that one is playing on cable a lot but I missed it cause I thought it was something stupid. But it's actually good? You guys recommend? what's the name, Parent Trap?

Helen Tasker
I've never have seen any Halooween movie (Halloween as a holiday whatever thingie wasn't a thing in my younger ears in general here, not sure when it started to get adopted), but I know a lot of ppl who are aware about her.
You might want to watch A Fish Called Wanda
An example for a mediocre film is Blue Steel, beside being middle ground at best, I never forgot her performance, that is not bad for a 28 years since its release I think
Btw, 7 times nominated for a Golden Globe (twice won) does not speak to me for her getting overseen in other roles = others seem to be aware of her too
Thanks! I guess it's an age gap. I googled those movies you mentioned and they are pretty old and not something that cable plays non-stop (there are old movies like Arnie's Commando but that plays every week on some channel ).

Nah not really.
She’s from a family of acting royalty. Always been famous and successful. Outside of films too.
I know that but I mean solely based on acting credits. Angelina Jolie is a Hollywood royalty too but she's not just famous for one role or to phrase it better one role didn't overshadow her whole career.

I guess you are a rather young one - or should watch probably some more movies out of earlier years.
(Can't belief to find this kind of wrong statement in a movie related board)
true. I know JLC only as Laurie. I know she appeared in True Lies but don't remember character's name. I thought she was mainly associated with Halloween like Star Trek actors with Star Trek. One iconic role overshadowing everything.

My God, First Man deserves to flop. What a booooring movie. Not every man who accomplished great things merits a biopic.
The man was glum and devoid of any interesting character traits (at least that's how the movie presented him)
FLOP FLOP FLOP FLOPPITY FLOP
Like every Gosling character ever. Never got the hype.
There's only one Ryan, ok, and he ain't Gosling, but he's Reynolds.
