    Why would IW help AATW who weren't in it? Apples and oranges. Parker had a big role in IW.  It's different.

     

    I'm not even a big fan of Homecoming (hated anything to do with Parker's friends/school "kids" cause annoying af characters and too old all of them) but you are letting your IM bias blind you. The movie has better shot at bigger OW than not, and as everyone already said, competition may decide legs.

    as a leading lady in movies, sure. As a supporting player in movies or lead on TV/streaming, no. 

     

    Also, Spider Web floppage is hardly on her. she didn't help the movie but Salander fad passed years ago. No one could have saved it. There's no reason to green-light this thing and yet here we are.

    yeah, bigger opening is a given thanks to IW/TA4 boost. the only thing that is in question are legs due to competition but we've seen movies with really strong WOM not collapsing (ASIB in the wake of BR, and even Venom held surprisingly well when it lost IMAX). 

     

    Also, Iron Man played a part only in OW but legs were not IM doing. And OW wasn't all that spectacular either so pretense that SM is dead w/o IM is just...:wtf:

    It's not pathetic at all. it's fun, Tom performance is amazing and Venom effect is top notch.

     

    Homecoming had a cast of really annoying 30something "teenagers" from Parker's school. His school buddies sunk every scene they were in. maybe Americans can relate to those stereotypes (the irritating obese best friend, the obnoxious nerdy girl secretly in love with the hero, the douchebag jock, etc) but the rest of the world may not.

    they made gorillions off Aurora, Snow White, Cinderella, etc and that still doesn't mean those leads aren't bland. They are.

    This year, we have 2 very strong Best Picture contenders that are also amazing crowd pleasers - BP and ASIB. which means that AMPAS will naturally award another barely seen movie. sigh.

    Nope. The character is popular and buzz and anticipation for the movie was building since the first trailer. It's a bone fide crowd pleaser that people couldn't wait to see. So success is very much explicable.

    Good time at the cinema = legs. a movie doesn't have to be amazeballs as in getting stellar reviews. It's enough to be entertaining and they'll come. Just look at :Venom:
