honestly blue beetle is my latest trailer enemy it's one i keep seeing and i'm sick of it. i know i'm gonna keep seeing it for all the big movies the next two months. even if i see asteroid city next week they'll probably put it in front of that too.

Me too. Yet I can't get Dune Part 2 to save my life even in IMAX and Dolby...

Who decides the trailers cache and how do I get that job lol?

  2. You know, I was expecting cameos cause multiverse and shit. Cloony didn't surprise me. Gal didn't. The chronobowl ones didn't, aside from Cage.

But the cameo that really shocked me was Temura Morrison 😂. You'd think he'd have no reason to appear and yet his scene had one of the biggest laughs in my showing!

  3. Just got out. It's unusual for me to go opening night, but I was really hyped for this and I needed to get it out of my system. I had a blast with this one. I already can't wait to see it again with the family. I actually thought the third act was a different turn in a live action comic film. The CGI does get terrifying sometimes lol. People keep talking about the baby scene and a certain scene in the third act, but what really terrified me was Zod. There's a couple moments his face was full CGI and it didn't look like Shannon at all lol. That scared the hell out of me more than any other scene lol.

I'm definitely going go see it again this weekend.

What is amusing about Snyder and MOS is that just after he started filming MOS, 'Sucker Punch" opened and bombed badly, and a week after they announced that Chris Nolan has been brought in to be a producer on MOS. Not a coincidence.

I remember that now lol. I thought at the time that the combo of Snyder and Nolan would be a winning duo.

Then the trailers came and it's still the most anticipated movie ever for me.

Then the reviews hit and I was in a state of delusion.

Then I walked out of my Wednesday Walmart showing shell-shocked.

Now, I'm still conflicted on the film and switch back and forth between enjoying it and hating it lol.

I'm a Snyder fan (not the unhinged Twitter type, but i respect his vision even if i dont agree with it) but the DCEU had no chance after he was like 7th in line to direct Man of Steel lol.

I'll add even further on to that - given his combination of domineering style plus mediocre results in his previous films, it was always a bad choice to hire him in the first place. I said as much at the time but then the amazing Man of Steel trailers tricked me.

Yep. Like I said, he wasn't even close to a top choice. He was kind of the only guy who would take the job and WB had to with him.

  6. I do wonder if this being the 4th Multiverse comic book film in 2 and a half years has maybe burned people out on the concept - especially when a widely praised multiverse comic film just released 2 weeks ago.

Then we have to consider what characters they are using.

NWH was gonna be huge anyways as Tom's is beloved and growing bigger. Adding in two generations of fans with the Raimi trilogy and Garfield's two films was a massive bonus. Audiences would've accepted any concept with all those characters together.

Multiverse of Madness was riding off NWH hype. Then they had a multitude of rumored characters appearing that sent hype onto overdrive (and disappointment lol). The film wasn't afraid of showing of Prof X which made people think we were getting some crazy cameos.

Across the Spider-Verse had everything going for it. 5 years of goodwill and hype from ItSV. Incredible artwork. Stellar reviews. Rumors of Tom, Tobey, and Andrew with every animated Spidey also rumored.

Flash though... Flash has Keaton and Supergirl - who's played by a newcomer with no pre-established connection. Keaton can't carry everything on his own. He's not even the beloved Batman of the past 18 years. That'd go to Bale. Also, this may be the biggest factor against it, the title character really isn't cared about by the general public. Flash showed up in a legendary bomb and a fan-driven director's cut that did low numbers on HBO Max after years of demand and build-up.

Doesn't help the lead actor can't do promotion for their own film.

I could see Tom Holland playing an annoying insecure rich guy like a Roman Roy type, unfortunately all MCU actors are required to lose their taste for at least several years after the height of the role (except Mark Ruffalo) so it's gonna be all Uncharteds from here on out.

I too wanna see Tom Holland jack off onto a window...

different kind of creep energy for sure. Tom Cruise isn't a pickup artist "power over pussy" type creep like the magnolia character. more like very intense gaze, wouldn't be totally shocked to find out he's killed a person, type energy.

The interview that infamously inspired Christian Bale's performance in American Psycho lol.

  9. As someone who thought Spider-Verse would do 85-90M Max Opening Weekend just a month ago, I am ecstatic to see this preview number and an Opening Weekend 100M+.

We're seeing a sequel of a small opener explode due to WOM and many, many people realizing how dumb it was to skip Into the Spider-Verse in theaters.

I already can't wait to see how Beyond's Opening Weekend performs in a couple years lol.
