Boss Baby looks like a breakout... Sadly
It's only tracking mid 20s OW. Also why sadly? The film could be fun.

Wow without the controversy this film could have grossed $300M+ WW and $100M+ DOM. With the controversy it still has made a lot of money.

B&B will be number 1 for at least 3 weeks.
I think it'll be close. I'm currently predicting $37M OW for Ghost and $39M for B&tB 3rd weekend.

I am saying will Ghost in the Shell beat B&tB in its 3rd weekend to be #1 in that weekend.

Will Ghost in the Shell beat B&tB for #1 spot?

It has half the budget of Moana and it's doing roughly the same numbers both domestically and overseas. I'd say that's pretty fantastic.

It's at $149M OS now. $500M WW is in danger now, it all depends on China (if it does like $150M+ there)

More like 350m WW opening. 1bn looks very likely.

I hope this somehow results in a live action Kingdom Hearts movie.

I'm predicting:
OW - $37M
DOM - $110M
WW - $430M
-
Biggest problem seems to be the two leads. Dane DeHaan is seriously miscast and Cara Delevingne can't act.

It would require it to be completely unprecedented. Not that it can't happen, but the 3 big 200M+ movies all hit the zeitgeist and got as many people as they could and still only increased 15% from True Friday. An almost 35% increase from Friday for such a big Friday would be ridiculous. 20-25% is a more realistic target tbh.
Never underestimate Kevin Kline.

Is there any good signs for this movie, any early screening reactions? I still have no idea where this film will land in terms of quality. The trailers haven't been bad or great, it just seems like it could be horrible, meh or good. I'm leaning on meh because of the director.

I remember hearing the announcement like 4-5 years ago... I knew it wouldn't live up to the original
Highlite of the film was Morgan Freeman's hair.
I hope he sticks with it.

I hope Valerian doesn't flop cause we're probably a couple years away from studios stop making any original big budget films.

Emoji (thanks to a barren August) and Ninjago can do over $100M Domestic.
They should move Valerian to August.

Nah.
The Wall and Monster Trucks were small Bombs.
I want a 150-200m+ budget movie flopping hard.
King Arthur fits the bill and could do it.
Valerian, I am sad to say, has a chance.
Power Rangers kinda, budget is kinda low.
$64M on a $125M budget is an enormous bomb. You rarely see that happening.
