Well F8 did just below 2x. 2x+ is difficult for mega openers in China. It could do 350 but is far from easy imo.
150/2.2x/330m could be high-end i think.
I just don't think you should base it on presales they're not very reliable especially in China.

If prod budget is 217 it's gonna make 3.5-3.7x that globally.
China still on track for 285-300.
Dom 150-160. Rest of OS 325-350
Gives 760-810 ww.
I think $350M is easily possible in China. Summer weekdays and little competition means better legs than Fast and Furious.

The people who are going to watch this movie don't give a damn about critics.

The Godfather trilogy
Star Wars IV-VI
This could join that elite company.
Hopefully it's better than Godfather 3 and TDKR.

How much $$$ are you guys predicting it to make by Sunday? $300M+
-
$300M WW by Sunday looks like a good goal for it. It could overperform by getting close to $400M.

TF4 didn't get Government support in China. As far as I have observed, TF5 buzz falls slightly behind F8 so its likely gross could be somewhere between TF4 (2B) and F8 (2.7B). Decreasing from TF4 would be a diaster: it would mean less than low 500M WW (like 80m DOM, 180M- OS-C, Sub 300M China), which will put the TF franchise dead and just seems too bad to be true.
Lol are you trolling? This is in no way missing $500M WW. $1B WW is not even dead yet.

Haters can hate but this looks fun as f-ck. I can't wait to grab some popcorn and enjoy the sh-t outta this. If it's as good as Dark of the Moon I'll be happy.

$260 production budget. It needs overseas bad.
The runtime isn't a surprise, and next Wednesday should be interesting.
It's lower. Dead Men Tell No Tales budget was listed at $320M then the actual budget came out to be $230M.

This could flop theatrically and still make $$$ cause of toy sales.

Can TF5 do Pirates DMTNT numbers?
-
So how is it going for TF5 in terms of presales?
-
Forbes is saying TF5 might surpass The Mermaid as China's biggest film. Does anyone here think it's possible?

$700M is only possible if it starts getting phenomenal legs in the U.S boxoffice. There's signs pointing to that with its great hold this weekend and as with most movies each weekend drop starts to lower as it progresses.

I think haters are hyping the fatigue this is getting. You can't compare Dead Men Tell No Tales to this. On Stranger Tides was 6 years before DMN, Age of Extinction was 3 years ago. It won't have 6 years of fatigueness behind it that the new Pirates has. Johnny Depp's controversies has hurt his franchise. Also 3 years of China growth from the last movie will also definitely help.
My prediction:
DOM - $200M
China - $400M
Rest OS - $420M
WW - $1.02B

$350-$400M is pretty good especially for a really bad film like this. It could've easily done a lot more maybe $600M if it had been good.

200m yuan is about 29m USD. So no that huge. Guess you thought he meant 200 million dollars
That's good.. I wasn't even expecting half that a week ago.

Deadline says it'll make $280M in revenue after it's all said and done.

Where is Pirates 5 heading in $?
$170M - $180M.

This should be the end of the franchise. It's doing good numbers its nowhere near flopping. Same should go to Transformers.

Hell no he's a poor man's Michael Bay. I think they should do a reboot and I enjoy Bayformers.
