I completely agree with the second sentence, I could see a potential plot with a 3rd movie

If they still don't want to age them up, maybe there'd be a new villain(s) discovering about Jack-Jack's many powers and limitless potential and kidnaps him to exploit his powers (could even get dark with the villain turning Jack-Jack against his own family or something dramatic like that, but then that would work better if he ages up)

Ugh, that's kind of a bummer, still looks like at least a fun action flick.

    Spoiler

Think of it as an animated old James Bond movie, it feels like that. There are no dark deaths or implied deaths of children or anything, it's more of relationships between a husband and wife, the balance of being a parent and having an identity/life, etc.

It doesn't seem nearly as adult as the original one, but of course, this is a PICTURE book and I only looked through a few pages.

    Spoiler

It's a lot more tame than the original, I read the full novel. They're really going for more GA/mass appeal here.

However, they do flesh out some of the relationships between family members (It's hilarious how Bob and Violet's only interaction in the first movie was the "You're wearing your hair back, it looks good!") :hahaha:

I think it's a pretty necessary sequel. Especially for hardcore fans like myself lol

  4. I don't think this will be as acclaimed as the first one, or Coco, etc.

I hope I'm wrong though but having seen the whole plot... while I love it as a fan, I'm not so sure about the critics/naysayers

Which is why I'm just gonna focus on its imminent success and I'm confident that this will be bigger than Dory dom and ww

  5. This is probably the most marketable Pixar movie ever, esp as they're going full on mass appeal with this one unlike the first

The family's faces are plastered on planes, bananas in the supermarket

They got car commercials, bleach commercials

Mother's Day, Father's Day - perfect promo spots

The movie being set in the 60s also adds a multi-generational appeal as you can see in the Supers' theme songs:

In the sea of superhero movies, they definitely stand out and bring something different to the table...

The fact that Mulan, the one time Disney is actually doing something fresh with one of their "properties" (I know Disney doesn't own Hua Mulan, but I don't know how else to word it), is being hated on by Disney fans and the Internet in general because it's daring to do things differently infuriates me to no end.

I think Disney is focusing on China for that one cause apparently Chinese people hated the original at the time
