No but Beyonce singing Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love Tonight might.
Either way, the King Will Soon Return
People outside of English speaking countries won't even know that Beyonce is in the movie cause the movie will be dubbed in their local languages

Wouldn't they need another "Let It Go" to really explode (again)? Seems that might be hard to do on demand, can't make the lightning hit your bottle every time.

Not sure if posted here but the end credits song will be called "Farewell Song" and sung by Demi Lovato again
So that might be this sequel's Let It Go
Hopefully I just hope this movie transcends that song and will be good regardless

Is it just me or does anyone else think the 2016 clown sighting hysteria contributed to IT's box office success?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_clown_sightings
I remember people were also speculating if it was just a publicity stunt for the movie
That plus the uniqueness of having kids as the main characters (which also worked for Stranger Things, another huge breakout at the time) really makes IT a zeitgeist film
So I hope no one is making huge expectations for this sequel and this movie shouldn't be seen as a disappointment if it doesn't surpass or stay flat from the first

They also spaced out the gaps between A2, A3, A4 and A5
Probably didn't want another SW situation where the yearly movies kinda took the "event" factor away
Especially as each movie is apparently stand alone unlike IW/Endgame

Idgi, Dec 2020 was such a perfect release date
"Cruella" should've been direct to Disney+ like Lady and the Tramp
Is that what Disney was concerned about? LOL

Can the GA remember the name of Leonardo's character in Inception?
Sandra's character in Gravity?
Matthew's character in Interstellar?
Now that I think about it the only other original movie without any pre-exisiting fanbase or property in the top 25 highest grossing WW list right now
is Frozen
Elsa is probably the only "new" character this decade that the GA went crazy for and she's still loosely based off of The Snow Queen, sort of a B-list fairytale from a hundred years ago

I was way too young to watch Titanic but one of my earliest childhood memories was that movie being everywhere and all the adults talking about it (I was like 3 at the time)
That was one of the first cultural events I ever witnessed and remember aside from the death of Princess Diana

It's interesting how the lead has been lost by a story focussed movie to a technical breakthrough movie and then back again several times.
Compelling and tense Jaws was topped by technical wizardry of Star Wars, then topped by heart-warming E.T., topped by technical breakthrough of Jurassic Park, topped by doomed romance movie of Titanic, topped by technical spectacle of Avatar, perhaps to be topped by character-heavy Avengers Endgame. (Star Wars has a lot of heart, and Titanic and Endgame have a lot of spectacle, but they weren't the movie's main selling point.)
Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Avatar stand out in my memory as the only times when technology leaped ahead to the extent that a movie really showed audiences something they had never seen before, and created a "must-see" event. And it's weird how they are spaced by 16 years.
So Endgame to take the lead, then be topped by a technological breakthrough movie in 2025. Can't wait!
E.T. being in that list full of epic scale spectacles is so cool especially when u think about how most of the movie takes place in a small house lol
It's such a universally touching story

Endgame outgrossing Avatar WW could work in A2's favor
Since Avatar is no longer at the top, the online hate bandwagon around it will finally calm down and mellow out a bit (just like what happened to Titanic) and people will be more open to seeing A2 if they hear good WOM from the GA (real life people who liked Avatar 10 years ago and never really hated on it online)
Disney can still market it as a mega event cause I mean, it's still #2 and it's not like it didn't hold the record for 9 years
SpoilerI might be on the bargaining stage at this point, it would still be surreal to see Endgame at the top spot

Transformers movies are kinda forgotten huh
Remember when they were like the 2nd or 3rd biggest franchise at its peak? lol

How does the rank thing work? I figured it was based on how long we've been a member but I saw someone who joined in 2 yrs before me and they're still "Straight-to-DVD"
Is it by number of posts?

Outgrossing Titanic let alone Avatar?

This franchise should've ended with Furious 7

Of course I'm talking about A1-A2. We can't know how the he other sequels will perform until we see how the first sequel does.
I can see it happening to A2 - A3 but not A1 - A2
A2 is hitting 3B+ while A3 is probably staying in the 2B+ range
-
Before any trailer/teasers were released I always thought it would be bigger than BATB (despite Guy Ritchie and this supposed "cursed weekend")
It's been a bumpy ride but the last trailer really confirms my beliefs, this movie is seriously underestimated
-
Can't wait for A2 to come out so that this "Avatar is forgotten" meme can die, it's so annoying
-
Still seems unnecessary, will this even hit 1B?

Finally a great trailer
I just hope it isn't a little too late
