That's not how marketing works, WB did that late market blitz because it's worked with Kong in improving it's BO projections.
Studios don't sit on a project until they feel that it'll get rave reviews then push it. If that was the case then SS and BvS would've never been marketed as much as they were
Wonder if WB is just gonna give DC their own presentation outside of the other WB movies or will they do the usually, wait until the end to announce stuff
The theater in a mall I frequent:
4:20p XD - Sold Out
7:40p XD - Sold Out
5:00p - Around 60% full
6:20p - Around 80% full
8:20p - Around 70% full
9:40p - Around 40% full
The majority of the 3D shows are around 20% or less so far but they'll probably fill up when the standard shows sell out
I'll update it in a couple hours
Edit:
I guess i'll add the AMC IMAX too
4:00p IMAX 3D - Sold Out
7:30p IMAX 3D - Sold Out
11:00p IMAX 3D - 30-40% Full
4:30p Dolby - Sold Out
8:00p Dolby - Sold Out
11:30p Dolby - 20-30% full
I would count the rest but the majority are near sell outs at least 2hrs before showtime
SS wasn't banned in China. WB hired a Chinese company to secure the release and they fucked up. My friend's friend works for said company
All the talk about Enchantress, Croc eating people and Katana's Japanese inspired mask being the cause was nonsense. Along with "China doesn't like bad people fighting bad people"
Yeah this is going to benefit from late shows from what i'm seeing, a lot of 7pm and later shows are either full up to the front rows or around 80%. Even the 11:15 ones
