  2. Back in January first week this year, I wonder how many thought NWH would have poor legs after holidays based on how similar both Rogue One and NWH weekdays were in that week..total 3rd week numbers were also very similar for both Rogue One, NWH....fast forward couple of months, NWH ends up collecting more than double of what Rogue One did for rest of run ($170M vs $76M). What this tells me is NWH is a better comparison for Avatar2 legs than Rogue One as both released in post-pandemic era and both had very little competition in January which for me seems like a lot more critical factor here for legs.

    Jan Week1 Weekdays:

    Tuesday:

    NoWayHome - $5.9M

    Rogue One    - $6.2M

    Wednesday:

    NoWayHome - $4.4M

    Rogue One    - $4.2M

    Thursday:

    NoWayHome - $3.9M

    Rogue One    - $3.9M

    Overall 3rd Week:

    NoWayHome - $78M

    Rogue One    - $79M

  3. Interestingly both Rogue One and NWH had very similar numbers on Wednesday, Thursday of Jan First week. Wednesday + Thursday for Rogue One was $8.1M whereas it was $8.3M. It was only from the following weekend, Rogue One started falling behind NWH significantly in dailies and NWH ended up making almost double of Rogue One for rest of the run...makes we wonder how much of an advantage it was for NWH to have such a weak slate in January, something which might apply for Avatar2 too. Rogue One seems to have had much tougher competition

If you think DOM performance is boring just turn to OS and let's all be happy together

OS numbers has been a delight to follow for more than a week now, to a point where 2B is kinda an actual possibility now even with DOM being boring and China situation

Agree...it's been lot of fun following OS numbers. Today's (26th) Italy number was stunning

  5. India 2nd Monday gross comparison among A2, NWH, EG and also drop % from 2nd Sunday in brackets -

    Avatar2 (Christmas release) : 16 Cr ( -48% )

    EndGame (Summer release) : 9.75 Cr ( -63%)

    NWH (Christmas release) : 5.65 Cr ( -55%)

If I remember correctly, NWH had capacity restrictions in few states due to covid concerns

we need to found if there’s any holiday in India,if this drop is based on no hoilday, then we can say this is really leggy run

December 26th isn't a public holiday in India but this is also start of holiday period. Usually Winter holidays for schools start from Christmas or NewYear and go on until Jan first week or Jan 2nd week. In some states winter holidays are from Dec 25th to Jan 7th and in some states they might start on Jan 1st and go on until Jan 15th. So there will be some boost due to these Winter holiday period

  7. BoxofficIndia just gave Monday update..they have 2nd Monday to be actually slightly higher than 2nd Friday. 2nd Friday was around 15Cr whereas 2nd Monday is projected to be around 15-16.5Cr. Excellent hold. Cirkus, the new Bollywood release this week looks like a huge disaster...so no significant competition for Avatar until Jan 11th in South India and until Jan 26th in North India

I wonder why they are projecting only 21% growth for A2 on Monday whereas Puss In Boots, BP2, Babylon etc are projected growth of 30-40% on Monday. Even Fabelmans is being projected to have almost 70% growth on Monday. Then you have Violent Night where they are actually projecting a decrease of 30% on Monday which I find bit surprising.
