Black Adam would have made Shazam 2 numbers without The Rock. It would have made close to Ant Man 3 numbers with a China release which was hyped due to the Kang/Multiverse stuff. The Rock is clearly a draw

Where did I say that The Rock isn't a draw? The Rock is a draw and Black Adam still wasn't a hit because of its bloated budget. Both things are true.

So you’re saying give a hot puppy-like boyfriend in need of saving to Cap Marvel and watch women pouring in? Hmmm, I’d buy a ticket for that.

I fear that my feminist card is going to be taken away if I say yes but I'm just going to say yes. Yes I think 90% of women like looking at attractive men.

EDIT: Okay, I get the feeling that Brie Larson wants the character to be a Lesbian so not Captain Marvel herself but Monica? Sure.

The demographics revealed by Deadline are interesting:

Other diagnostics on The Marvels: 65% male leaning, with 45% men over 25, 22% women over 25 (giving it the best grades at 82%), men under 25 at 20%, and women under 25 at 14%. Biggest demo was 25-34 at 33%. Diversity demos were 36% Caucasian, 27% Latino and Hispanic, 17% Black, and 14% Asian. The Marvels secured all of the PLF screens and IMAX, which rep 38% of the weekend’s take. The movie is playing best in the South, South Central, and West with the AMC Disney Springs the pic’s no. 1 venue, with close to $91K so far.

I should this movie seems to be low on femal audience even compared to other MCU movies.

Remember when Aquaman pushed hunky shirtless Jason Momoa and got a huge female audience because of that?

how come the Russo brothers and screenwriters Markus and McFeely barely given credit and why have they not been hired to make more Marvel films? They made some of the highest grossing, fan and audience beloved Marvel movies and did an incredible job handling large casts, delivering terrific action and balancing the right amount of drama and humor.

Even though I'll never forgive them for The Gray Man, I do believe that they deserve credit for their great MCU work. Winter Soldier, Civil War and Endgame were great and Infinity War was good, in my opinion. They were great solid journeyman directors for the MCU. I get the vibe that Destin Daniel Cretton could be another Russo type director for the MCU provided he isn't forced to direct a script from anymore Rick & Morty type of writers.

Well it’s not like she elevated the material. She brought not real charm or charisma to the role. Emily Blunt could’ve pulled it off better with the same material.

Agreed. Someone like a Blunt or like an Emma Stone would have nailed it. Not necessarily talking about the sequel because I have not seen that yet and it wouldn't be fair for me to review a performance that I haven't seen.

The Flash was also paraded around by Warner Brothers as a high quality game-changer of a film.

As for this film? Both Disney and Marvel have been quiet about this film, only doing the bare minimum to promote it.

Eternals was promoted a similar way. Studios can get highly obnoxious with marketing and embarrass themselves. News at 11:00.
