300% Fri jump from Thursday for WW!
Hopefully, WW rises to near 2M for the weekend. It'll depend on the Sat jump of course.About 400% if DL is correct.

Where is Nut Job 2 on DL's estimate? I wish WW would have done more, but how can anyone be disappointed in its performance?

I apologize guys. Im on vacation for a week.
Enjoy!

Maybe we'll get a more specific update from the BOT guru, Rth. The box office is really dead this week, because there isn't a compelling opener. I woould love to see whether WW does enough to be able to sustain a run at CA and IM. Maybe even a 4 multiplier too. I think this lost weekend will hurt all the movies, including WW.

Well, every opener under $5M and possibly every movie under $10M is hard to spin into anything but box office bust...
And if we've learned anything from WB this summer, when you've got bad news, wait as long as possible to report it (but when it's good, report it as soon as humanly possible:)...
WB has not had much bad news his summer.

How would anyone know how WW opened in Japan and how wom is going? It is 12:36 AM on 8/26, so it debuted less than one day ago. With that said, I hope that 3-4 million figure is correct. Would be awesome news for WW to add another 15-20 million to its gross. 822 million would take it over SM1 WW.

Good news for Hitman's Bodyguard at my local AMC. I had a little bit of time on my hands this afternoon, so I was hoping to catch an afternoon show. The 2:45 showing of Hitman's Bodyguard was sold out. I couldn't stay for the 4PM, but there was also a sold out evening show from what I could see on the kiosk.

Okay! Fair enough. Would be a pleasant surprise though.

The way the box office is going, WW MAY end up
back in the top five if there's a LD expansion during these next two weeks.
-
By the time this movie comes out, people will be starving for a new release and will flock to it. If it garners good reviews and good wom, then open the flood gates.

Honestly, WB always likes to be late with final numbers. Even if numbers is up.
I know. But BOM has revised estimates from WB. AC up; Dunkirk down; and WW down ever so slightly.
-
Once again, WB estimates adjusted downward for WW. I don't know why they just do not use the 40% Sunday decrease every week.

It went over the estimates by $56k. It will have the best ten and the second best drop from the top twenty, being second to WW's first. Another awesome hold for Homecoming. Like clockwork.
My bad, iJack. I thought the estimate was $4,250,000. And yes, regardless SM:HC enjoys another excellent hold.

According to The Numbers, SM-HC estimate was on the money almost to the exact dollar.

There are no Americans in Dunkirk.
I know, but it is about WWII and anything about that war is watchable for Americans. Movies like Schindler's List also made it big here.

I hated Dunkirk and loved Detroit. Both show brutality in different ways, although I did not give a crap about any of the characters in Dunkirk, save one and he died. I love my country- USA, but it comes down to race relations being an embarrassment to America and an issue that it still refuses to face, while WWII was a glorious time for America. Americans like to thump their chests about defeating Nazis, but often cower in denial when faced with the fact that racism is still very real in their own backyard. That is why movies like Detroit will underperform more often than not and the Dunkirks of the movie industry will succeed.

Something was way off about The Big Sick's Friday estimate. I think it was listed as having a 279% increase to earn 535K. Yet, the weekend estimate is slightly over 1 million and BOM has 322 as its Friday take.

I guess you forgot about Life, which bombed. Reynolds isn't consistent at all.
Ryan Reynolds has a supporting role in Life. I enjoyed the heck out of that movie. He was in it for maybe the first half hour. Unfair to judge it as his movie. It was more of a Jake Gyllenhaal movie.

Annabelle Creation was horrible. Horror movie characters are dumb, the ones in this film bring it to a whole other level of stupid.
What? Lol... I really liked it.
Weekend Actuals (Page 32): THB 10.3M | Annabelle 7.7M | Leap 4.7M | Wind River 4.6M | Logan Lucky 4.2M | Dragon 2.7M | Where are the clowns, cults, and Cruise when you need them?
