I have and it was good, so I guess it's just Hardy is the problem?
Save this routine after you see the movie please

but unless they change one major thing from the book, the opening scene should be something pretty obvious and is a great way to start the movie.
Let me guess it will be similar to the starting event of the first movie.
But this is just me basing off on the observations made by the the fat kid and the scenes involving the black kid in the first movie that I think the starting will delve into the origin of the clown in a period setting the thing feel Witch 2015-ish

well I hope the millions of new 'It' fans power through the book.
However, I expect the second movie to be a completely different spin from the back half of the story.
Didnt the book provide parallel narration of the kids and adult version both of which depended on each other ?
That should mean that they already finished through half of book and the other timeline has to do all the heavy lifting of the lore ?

I am getting nervous now. I love the Conjuring Universe and don't wanna see it get fucked up.
$32M/$76M
Iisten of all the horror films which are more or less critics proof this conjuring spin off should be the most insulated from critics' opinions (IT 2 is in its own league)
We already know this gonna have solid to record opening , now about its leg that will depend mostly on audience WOM for that it doesn't need to be AQP , Anabelle 2 or The Conjuring level good but it just need to be scary enough

QuoteThe Nun which is expected to bring the Burbank, CA studio moola from heaven with an estimated $36M-$45M start at an estimated 3,700-plus locations. Two out of three tracking services have The Nun north of $40M, and there’s a very good chance that the Corin Hardy-directed pic will rep a record debut for The Conjuring universe, besting the first 2013 installment’s debut of $41.8M. Total awareness, first choice, and unaided awareness on The Nun is best with females under 25. Already we’re hearing that advance ticket sales are ahead of Annabelle: Creation and The Conjuring 2.

Thursday before release is pretty standard for horror movies.
Wasnt that the same IT last year ?

Is The Conjuring the only consistent 18+ franchise in this market (most other franchises like Hate Story/Ragini MMS have run their course).
Have a feeling that The Nun is poised to make solid bank here . even surpass most of the superhero movies not named Avengers and most probably grossing higher than any other Hollywood movie following it the rest of this year (or maybe even extend that to Avengers 4! )

hope enough of the new crowd gets around to the 1,100+ page edition of the book before the new movie. It: Chapter One must have added tens of millions of young fans.
I'm not really into books but I mustered the courage to read the book around this time last year.
I managed to read a total of 2 pages before never opening it again....
(though I really loved how even the first 2 pages are so accurately adapted in the opening 1 minute)

The 2019 box office predictions thread was released in the final quarter of last year so I've taken it on myself to create the thread for 2020.
Isnt that a bit too early (also this thread).... ?
Many movies can get delayed going from now to late 2019

This time of the year has leggy runs.
Even shitty films like sucide squad has a leggy run.
I'm thinking whether this somehow wins an Oscar too

since F&F his recent films have made much more than that especially worldwide.
Its the Transporter movies that he's vastly known for everywhere in the world.
And now that I think of it the reason for F&F global resurgence is because of the same teen/YA demo worldwide in the 00s that it shared with the likes of Transporter which thrived upon home media.
I can say that >90% of Asia knows Statham due the Transporter movies airing on cable Tv/home media. Maybe if they had continued with more Transporter movies it could have been something like Mission Impossible/Jason Bourne lite in terms of BO.

QuoteThe Meg was No. 1 in 34 markets, No. 1 across Europe and Latin America and No. 1 in nearly all Asian hubs outside China. It’s performing very well against comps like Rampage, Geostorm, London Has Fallen, Into The Storm, White House Down, Skyscraper and San Andreas in most plays
QuoteSpain was also a No. 1 bow with $2.4M from 307, surpassing Rampage by 87% and San Andreas by 115%.
Mexico caught $1.5M on 2,123 screens for a dominant No. 1 and surpassing nearly all of the comps including more than doubling Geostorm and coming in 62% ahead of Rampage.
QuoteItaly took the bait, bowing as WB’s best opening day of the year with $569K on 363 screens and 75% of the Top 5 movies. It further doubled launch-day results of White House Down, London Has Fallen, Rampage
QuoteGermany grossed $361K at 557 screens, slotting 2nd. Results are close to 50% ahead of Pacific Rim: Uprising and San Andreas.
Numbers dont lie and this movie is comping way ahead of typical Rock actioner
