With all that going in for it i think Episode 7 would have made the same number even if Zack or bay would have directed it. Lucas would on the other hand have seen the potential of chinese market and Done something mind blowing... j j abrams sucks just plan sucks

I think JJ's mystery boxes added a lot of continued excitement and repeated viewings around the movie, so much buzz and so many theories and so much hype for Luke. Also Disney's marketing push was insane for this, definitely lead to the record breaking numbers.

This is giving me flashbacks to Aquaman vs Mary Poppins juggernaut...

Now, let's say the next SW is a KOTOR movie, with loads of light saber spectacle - think that ship has sailed for Asia and Latin America. They needed huge epic action in TFA and that didn't bring anything new to the table. Good visuals, but nothing innovative or spectacular.

But, yes, domestic and Europe will eat it up, sure. AQM2 should still stay put. The first one didn't do gangbusters in most of the traditional Western markets, so there's room for growth, and a bigger launch than the first, with Christmas legs, will help that. Maintain the original's release strategy, target China and some other major Asian and LATAM markets first, by releasing it 1-2 weeks in advance, and even with a flat domestic performance (or even a 10-15% drop), it's still looking at a WW take to match or beat the original's. Not to mention that a well-received Batman and Black Adam to precede it will just help boost AQM2, via the DC brand. As such, even on the high end of expectations for SW (1.1 billion, which is quite unlikely, given the trend), AQM2 still comes out on top and makes more than in a different slot. So...really, why move?

Dumbest thing is Aquaman delivered on so much spectacle and epic fantasy landscapes and monster battle (too much some would say) and it costed like half of TLJ/TFA. And it actually looked good, It rarely broke the immersion or suspense because of some bad CGI scene

George said he waited for technology to get better for the prequels to be made and they were groundbreaking, this new trilogy could have been so much more, but idiot big head directors fall for youtube memes hurr CGI bad. They think they're real filmmakers or something

Can't wait for Harry Potter 8 where it is revealed Harry almost kills hermione and rons son because he sees him becoming as powerful as voldy in a vision. This leads to ron and hermiones son actually becoming evil. Harry then goes into exile and vanishes until a youth wants to bring back the boy who lived to spark hope in the fight against the new dark lord

Harry is jobless deadbeat because he's mentally stuck in his high school glory days, while Ron and Hermoine are going trough a tough wizard divorce and haven't spoken to each other in two years.

  4. George is seen in a pretty positive light now considering, I wonder if George would get his redemption arc if he never sold the franchise and we never saw that it could be worse.

I think it was inevitable that the prequels would be seen in a better light no matter how the George's new trilogy would be received.

But on the other hand he kept making changes to the OT movies, he's even made one new change to the Han/Greedo scene. He wasn't going to let that ago and neither was the fanbase.

  5. nothing wrong with asking questions even if they sound silly. Most americans are trained to call conspiracy anything that isn't approved already by mass corporate media then they will spout the most idiotic conspiracies like their president is a russian spy whos being blackmaield by pee tapes.I'm happy I don't live  there

  6. 🤔 It's a worse movie than TLJ on many levels it's better in a few...but I don't hate it  like I did TLJ. Because I can understand why it's bad. Just my experience  with it but I don't think people will get hung up on this movie like they did with TLJ. They would if it followed two good movies and it blew up the trilogy. But it follows TLJ so...I'm glad it's over? I think this trilogy and era won't be remembered positively if they don't make some even worse undertaking
